The reviews for this little gem of a B&B really say it all. We arrived after a long day of walking on a rather warm day, tired and dishevelled. Sara didn't bat any eyelid, but showed us to our room, and left us to sort ourselves out before dinner. The warm Welsh cakes were delicious, and tea, ground coffee with... More

I stayed on the weekend of the 13th/14th June and had a wonderful time, and was very lucky to experience a mini heat wave !!The hosts are very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The attention to detail along with the personal touches are a rarity these days. The Blyton room was very comfortable, clean and modern. The freshly made cookies in... More

My husband and I recently stayed here for a bank holiday getaway. We booked it last minute by internet. Within hours of booking, the owner of the b&b emailed us thanking us for booking and did we have any special requests before arriving, and did we want to book an evening meal ready for arrival. On arrival, we were greeted... More

Dolffanog Fach B&B UK Wales, Tal-y-Llyn We stayed 3 nights in this B&B: 2 rooms with 4 people. The B&B is located in a beautiful scenic area on the eastern shore of Llyn Mwyngil near Tal-y-llyn, at the foot of Cadair Idris. The location is a real topper: an ideal base to explore the region. The B&B has spacious rooms... More

Absolutely lovely place, setting can't be beaten and room was really comfy. Warm home made welsh cakes on arrival and a lovely evening meal, with good wine selection. We were only there one night, but wish it had been a longer stay. Will go back.

We only booked a one night stay at the last minute, extending a short break travelling across Wales, so glad that we did!!. The accommodation is fabulous, definitely 5 star. Nothing is too much trouble, evening meal and breakfast were both delicious, attention to detail outstanding. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly, location perfect. We hope to visit again... Stayed only one night, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Sara and Carl are lovely people, and deserve every success. The afternoon tea, and evening meal were superb, as was the breakfast which surpassed some breakfasts we've had at first class hotels. As has been said they are caring but unobtrusive hosts. I'm sure we will return to sample the walking. We... More

Thank you very much for your kind comments, it's very easy to be good hosts when we have such lovely guests! I love your headline comment "homely" is exactly what we strive for, we don't aim to be a luxury b&b (although we do have a few luxury touches) but to provide people with a home from home so it's... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sara & Carl would love to welcome you to Dolffanog Fach. Our aim is to provide the warm and friendly welcome of a traditional B&B with the standards and special touches you would expect from a boutique hotel. Unlike most B&Bs we do not "live in", we have a little cottage just next door so you don't need to feel as though you are staying in someone's home. We have 4 lovely double bedrooms, a sitting room with a log fire and a beautiful dining room with a slate floor and wood burning stove. Our dining room is big enough to accommodate individual tables for each guests but small enough to be cosy and allow you to chat to other guests if you wish. We have a large garden that you are welcome to explore with a garden railway which our children will be more than happy to demonstrate! We also have a Finnish Sauna which is just perfect after a long day's hike or cycle in our astonishingly beautiful surroundings. If you are a walker or mountain biker then we can offer you our "Boots & Bikes" Room. Secure storage for your bikes, boots, helmets and clothes and we can also offer laundry facilities. Our breakfasts are designed to really set you up for the day and also offer plenty of variety if you are staying for more than a few days. You could stay for a week and have a different breakfast every day! We really want to offer our guests value for money and put a lot of effort into the little things, the biscuits in the rooms are homemade and freshly baked, the milk is fresh and the coffee is ground and there are lots of other little touches that guests always comment on and say how much they make a difference. Children of any age are more than welcome and stay free if under 12 and sharing their parents room. We also welcome dogs and they are allowed in the rooms and sitting room, we don't permit them in the dining room but you are welcome to leave them in the bedrooms while you eat. We hope you'll come and stay with us, we can promise you a friendly welcome, lovely rooms, delicious food, glorious surroundings and a truly relaxing stay. ... more   less
