Positives: Spotlessly clean bedding, comfortable bed. Good TV and tea/coffee facilities in the room. Excellent wifi. The place was blissfully quiet. Excellent location, 5 mins walk to Hill Road with its lovely cafes, shops and restaurants, and to the Pier. No problem getting a spot in the car park. While I didn't eat breakfast, there looked to be a very...

It was full of old (tired ) furniture and china and definitely needed a good clean. We had to settle our bill as soon as we entered the premises and as for the contraption in the front room; a wooden box-like structure that constituted a toilet and shower, it was monstrous.

Stayed on 3 separate occasions, each lasting at least a week. Love David, Abby & Nigel.... they are so nice! They took care of my needs on every occasion. Very friendly environment, and i enjoyed my stay with them. Great location to bus-stop, food-stop, post-office & within walking distance to the pier with amazing scenery!

The room was large and well equipped with a smart tv and good internet. The bed though was very poor. It had a very uncomfortable foam mattress that gave no support. The breakfast was basic and we were glad we had not ordered a cooked breakfast as there were no staff and no coffee!! All the other visitors were long...

Stayed here for one night. Perfectly decent B&B a bit old and slightly tired but clean enough. For a quick stay it works just fine. Some pubs and small restaurants around for dinner but this is a small town so rather limited.

We had to wait 5 minutes on the doorstep at 7.30pm for admission, and then registering and paying took 25 minutes! (Unusual to be asked for full payment on arrival.) The lady receptionist was very pleasant, but could not work the computer or do simple addition! But the boss, also pleasant, gave an unsought discount. The rooms were ok. The continental breakfast...

As I had booked an accessible room and queried the parking I was pleasantly surprised to get a phone call from the owner checking our needs. He explained that the room wasn't exactly wheelchair accessible (so be careful if you need this!) For my husbands needs it was ok being on the ground floor with just a couple of small...

I stayed here for just one night a couple of years ago. The owners were a charming couple who had plans to go look at a friends roses and warmly gave me access to their home while they were out. I spent a lovely evening in their beautiful garden, a peaceful respite after a long day of driving and touring....

My boyfriend and I booked a last minute one night stay here after a terrible six night stay at a pricier b&b just down the road. What a difference; the staff at the Cavell were helpful, very kind and friendly, and couldn't do enough to make sure we had a good stay, despite brevity. Our room was lovely, the en...

The place is like Fawlty Towers and definitely provides lots of material for a comedy sketch, we stayed in a ground floor room with 2 sheds in it with a toilet and shower inside....very bizarre but also dirty with hair left on the shower cubicle wall and just generally not nice to look at or use, the sink was in...
