Why can't all hoteliers be as welcoming as Julie and Carol of the Castle of Comfort. Nothing was too much trouble and we decided, after the first meal, to have our dinners there while we stayed since the standard of cooking and presentation and service, was very good.

Stayed here for one night recently and cannot fault the welcome and quality. It is spotlessly clean and has some nice touches - a real teapot for the morning cuppa, real bath foam in a bottle for a long soak and complimentary sherry on arrival in your room. I was travelling alone but did not feel out of place in...

The Castle of Comfort is a simply superb hotel. We travelled a long distance for a family wedding, and were instantly warmly greeted and recognized (as we had stayed beforehand, when visiting family). The staff insisted on helping us carry our bags to the rooms, and made us feel right at home, as they’re all so friendly and chatty. The...

This hotel is just something else. Everything about it deserves a 10/10 rating. Received personally the moment our feet touched the ground, escorted to our lovely room and asked if we would like tea of coffee in the lounge after settling in. We did not just get tea and coffee but six pieces of absolutely fantastic cakes - home baked....

We booked for a four night stay to "chill out" after a very hectic summer period, and this lovely country house hotel seemed to have the potential to offer this from the write-ups that I had read. We weren't disappointed. We had the Italian Room (really a small suite) for three nights, which was a delight, and the decanter of...

We stayed for one night in a standard double room and ate dinner in the restaurant. The owners were amazingly welcoming and accommodating. The food was superb (breakfast outstanding) and there was a well stocked bar in a nice lounge. We swam in the outdoor heated pool. Our room was tastefully decorated and had everything you could need and more...

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Certainly the comfiest bed and pillows for an wonderful night's sleep, with an outstanding shower. This is an inviting, tranquil place on the A39, which we used as a stopover en route to Cornwall. There is plenty of parking front & back, and 4 acres of manicured, sloping gardens, full...

We booked this place about a week ago on a whim. The reviews were good and rightly so. The place is run by two sisters Carol and Julie. Carol is the chef and Julie probably looks after everything else. We stayed in Mariner 1 which is a suite with a 4 poster bed. The room is spacious and equipped with...
