We have been to the George twice now and live locally. It is absolutely lovely food and the owners are bright, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. It was lovely to take our family for Sunday lunch. Definitely recommend and will certainly be coming again. Great portions and value.

Lyn made us welcome from the time we walked in. A really warm welcome. The portions are huge, but so tasty I just had to finish 'both' of the steaks! My husband ordered steak pie which was fabulous. Such a shame we don't have a 'local' like this. But perhaps if we did I would be twice the size I...

I was a bit sceptical about going for Sunday lunch after reading some of the previous reviews... however, we were absolutely bowled over by how fantastic this pub is. We had booked a table for myself, husband and our 15 month old. I was told they don't have a highchair but that was absolutely fine as we have a booster...

Was recommended to give this one a try and have to say the willingness to provide food when it was obviously not perhaps a regular lunchtime feature, very reassuring.nice selection of cask beers and very dog friendly. Food good honest and tasty pub food, with generous portions. Being a cold grey day, would have welcomed the bar being a tad...

Not a Carvery but served at the table with veg brought out separately. Veg dishes were hot but veg Cauliflower and broccoli under done. Appeared to have been plated up...

A lovely quiet village location, great for a walking holiday on Exmoor. Comfy, clean rooms with lovely views. Welcoming and friendly atmosphere. After a day walking on Exmoor we enjoyed a drink or three in the bar and great home cooked food by soft candlelight - very generous portions so remember to leave a gap for pudding. Thankfully, not a...

This is what a country pub should be. Warm welcome for people and dogs (always a plus with me). We had a simple pub lunch and will go again soon. They have a garden with a wonderful view, next time we hope the weather will be suitable for lunch outside.

The owners gave us a real warm and friendly welcome and went out of their way to provide us with a lovely meal even though we turned up late. The food and ale was excellent, the room clean and cosy. The Inn is a bit out of the way but worth making the effort. We only stayed the one night...
