We enjoyed our two day visit to the Lion. Angela and Ian and the rest of the staff go out their way to make you feel at home. Diner and breakfast were both high quality and served with care and attention in comfortable surroundings in a delightful Somerset town.

The owners of the hotel and their staff were most welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. The hotel itself needs a bit of tlc especially the bedrooms. The room we had was spacious but the decor needed updating and the hot water took an age to come through. We had a meal one night and the food and service were...

Stayed at the Lion Hotel as our first stop on a tour of the West, The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are basic decor with an en-suite, all clean and totally adequate for an overnight stay. A Full english breakfast the following morning was spot on with ample tea/coffee. Ive stayed at hotels for twice the price...

All the rest of the pubs in Dulverton were fully booked so we went here for a meal. The welcome was friendly and all of the staff were very helpful. There were only a few other diners in the restaurant so there was very little atmosphere to the place. The food was OK but not special. The decor was drab...

Excellent dinner with good choice and well prepared. My steak was superb and very nice wine. Service very friendly. Breakfast was fine and although not huge choice of cereal fresh fruit was available. Cooked breakfast nice and cold ham superb. Again service really friendly. Very good value and down to earth with lovely fire in bar where one eats. Recommend...

Reasonably priced hotel. Good for families, dogs and walkers. Hosts and most of the staff very affable and certainly make an effort. Angela (mine host) was a star and wasn't phased when eight of us booked in and our reservation hadn't been carried forward from late last year. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were excellent and I gather...

We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday evening meal at the Lion Hotel. The choice of traditional dishes was good - and our meals were attractively presented, cooked perfectly and delicious. My steak was served just as I had asked it to be. But more importantly, we (and our tired old dog) were made to feel very welcome and comfortable by all...

Called in for lunch about 12.15. Ordered a beer which was showing as on but wasn't and when it came to us really wasn't great. My coke was flat so another one had to be brought to the table - slightly better but no ice offered. Just had a chicken and cheese panini. How this can be burned on the...

Staying nearby last weekend, called in on Saturday night for some grub..... Waitress was quite lovely and very helpful, food arrived promptly and was very good. Entertained by overhearing locals chatting at the bar about the local treacle mine!! Would definitely call in again.
