Making a long awaited return for lunch at this beautiful village in rural Somerset, the Poulett Arms is the only pub in the village. Has always offered great quality food and reservations are a must. However, although we arrived on-time, around 12.15pm, the meal took 2.5 hours to serve. Not sure if the delays were in the kitchen or insufficient...

Do not book here. I booked my wedding night here & had told them I would arrive only at the end of the evening after the wedding party and was definitely coming. To our HUGE disappointment and disbelief on arrival the doors were shut, they didn't answer my phone calls or knocking on the door. We ended up sleeping on...

The hotel brings you back to an era, when mobile phone, tv etc., were not a requirement. The hotel has open fires which in the winter makes it feel like old England. The menu is not extensive BUT, the quality of the food is phenomenal, it has a good cellar with of course draught cider and real ales. The staff...

Went for family meal - 7 people and 2 year old. Ordered drinks and at same time ordered side of chips for hungry child. Chips came when drinks did: super-fast!! :) Any parent will know that speedy food for hungry child pretty much makes your day. So big ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️score for that one! When food came it was absolutely delicious 😋,...

Wow, this place is awesome. The atmosphere and interior is really amazing. We had a platt r to share and our little boy had chips. Parents joined us and they had steak sandwiches. Local ales in casks behind the bar, well kept and delicious. Open fires, flagstone floors and rickety, lovely furniture felt exceptionally homely. Great staff, so friendly and...

I was taken here for Sunday lunch as part of a wonderful Birthday weekend and the best was certainly saved til last. A fabulous through fire warms the lovely bar area, the staff were cheerful and very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. Scampi as a starter was a new one on me but wow, with so many flavours it...

Have just had lunch at this restaurant and have to say that it was a real pleasure. The food here is excellent and the staff were very helpful. We have visited before and have never been disappointed. The chef certainly knows how to show off local produce at its best.

This really is the pefect pub. Quintessential English village, lovely old pub with all the original features in tact. In terms of a restaurant, this place is excellent, lots of hearty English meals with modern twists or just the traditional meals done perfectly such as the fish and chips. Good breakfasts (although no fruit), the sausages alone are worth the...

We had been recommended to eat here by a friend and we are really glad we made the journey over from Lyme Regis. For a start Hinton St George is such a pretty village so we were glad to explore it. The lunch was great, I had sea bream and hubby had roast beef with all the trimmings. Pudding was...
