My partner had the fish and chips which was good but I had the belly pork allegedly served with Savoy Cabbage!! You would have needed a microscope to find the cabbage. The rather gelatinous sauce served with the tasteless pork was dreadful. This combined with one fondant potato at £14.95 was exceptionally bad value for money. The landlord sitting at...

This is a pub with a friendly atmosphere. Breakfast on day one was a bit rushed as no one had told the chef that someone was wanting breakfast at 8:15, so I was up and trying to find something to eat before any staff arrived. That said, when it came, it was a nice, well cooked breakfast. Day two breakfast...

17th century pub with lovely atmosphere and cosy feel to bar area with log burner. Stayed 3 nights in cheapest room which is above bar and next to road, slept well in comfortable bed dispite noise from below and out side. Good size full English breakfast served from 8.00 am. In the area on business for a couple of nights. Working hours meant I only 'saw' it in the dark but area around is supposed to be lovely. Spacious room, comfy and quiet and clean but wifi was a struggle. Good selection of beers and cider at the bar - pity I was working! Good food evening and for breakfast....

Basic room but had everything you required for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was hearty and filling. We were made very welcome by both the staff and locals as well the landlords son who was charming and chatty. Dogs are also welcome.

Lovely place. Great food . Great staff. Comfortable bed. Downside. Christmas lights left on outside pub. Even after mentioning. These left the room full of light at night and strobing. Also room 6 the french four poster room is directly above bar area. Suggest sound proof flooring. Instead of leaving ear plugs in drawer. If it wasn't for the lights...

This is a traditional country pub which does great food and is dog friendly. We've stopped here quite a few times after running our Border Collie on the Quantock Hills. The pub has a very traditional feel and the welcome is friendly. Never found cause for complaint or disappointment.

We are located at the foot of the Quantock hills and just one mile from Kilve's 'moonscape' beach. There are 12 comfortable, fully equipped en suite guest bedrooms which have been rated AA 4 stars.
