We stayed two nights over the Bank Holiday weekend. Despite being very busy the staff in the evenings were welcoming and cheerful. The food was good. The bedroom was small but pretty with a well stocked tea tray. The bathroom palatial with fluffy towels and masses of toiletries. All very clean. On the down side the beds were old and...

My husband and I have just returned from a fabulous stay at The Hood Arms and are already looking at the calendar to see when we can return. The rooms were clean and comfortable, staff were great, food delicious, and facilities excellent. The added bonus was to be able to bring along our dog, who was welcomed by the staff...

My husband and I travelled to Somerset (from Canada) on a "genealogical" holiday. We chose the Hood Arms because of its location, and also because of the positive comments we'd read. We were delighted to find that it exceeded our expectations! The pub was wonderful, the food superb! Most inviting of all, however, were the wonderful staff. No request was...

Excellent beer and lovely food. The beer garden is really pretty and the boules court a great idea. Friendly locals and helpful landlord. We really enjoyed our meals and there was a good variety of foods on offer. Exmoor Gold is absolute nectar. Well played everybody.

My friends and I received a fantastic welcome as did our 3 dogs. Food was excellent and the locals very friendly. Wonderful sofas in front of a log burning stove made a fabulous place for a pre and post dinner drink. Landlord could not have been more helpful chatting with us about the local area. We hope to return soon.

Stayed for 3 days in the family room, 2 adults and 2 boys (12 & 14), plus dog. Location is a good base for visiting Quantox, Exmoor and surrounding areas. Pub is a traditional friendly inn, with a good mix of locals and tourists. Staff are very friendly and attentive, the rooms nice and quiet with direct access to the...

My wife and I had two delightful stays at the Hood Arms. Sunday dinner is not to be missed, although all the food and drink was excellent. This is also a terrific location, close to a cliff walk along the Bay of Bristol enjoyed by Woodsworth. The best part, however, was the people. Both the staff and our fellow patrons...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hood Arms is a beautifully furnished 17th century inn with orginal oak beams, natural stone walls, and open fireplaces. We are located at the foot of the Quantock hills and just one mile from Kilve's 'moonscape' beach. There are 12 comfortable, fully equipped en suite guest bedrooms which have been rated AA 4 stars. Our restaurant enjoys an excellent reputation far and wide, and guests are able to relax in our cosy bar or, during the summer months, in our large pretty garden. We are aware that we have had some negative comments posted on tripadvisor in recent months. We would like to assure you that the vast majority of our customers are very happy with their stay but we have reviewed these comments seriously and are genuinely working hard to make improvements.
