Boutique B&B, spotless room/bathroom/dining room, modern decor throughout, comfy bed so a great night’s sleep (can’t remember which room we were in but the one with George on the wall so uber quiet), tasty breakfast and a convivial and engaging host. What’s not to like. No parking but the offsite is a good golf shot away and the cost isn’t overly expensive. Highly recommended.

We were bowled over by decor and comfort of Swain House. There were many extras in room such as Flemish waffles, fresh milk, proper coffee, sulphate free luxury washing products and more. The breakfast was of high quality. The Covid restrictions were applied assiduously. And the hosting was excellent Great place for long weekend without driving You can walk along the Mineral Line to Dunster The SW coastal path the other way goes to Kilve. The SW coastal path is Jurassic and brimming with fossils A bus runs up and down the coast reliably. And there is the station and trains running on select days, steam or diesel. A few reasonable places to eat in town

We’ve had the most amazing stay here. Situated right near the marina. Lovely Indian restaurant within walking distance and very friendly pubs in this quaint town. Beautifully equipped rooms and fantastic breakfast. Jason has been a great host, we will definitely be coming back.

Stayed in the room in the picture last night. Stunning B & B very tastefully decorated and comfortable. I thoroughly recommend staying there. Had a problem trying to find somewhere to eat as all restaurants fully booked which I think could have been helpful if in advance the B & B owners could have advised on in terms of booking in advance.

Hi beamend2017, Thank your for your lovely review, very pleased you liked your room (as pictured), and thought it very tastefully decorated and comfortable—thank you for recommending staying at Swain House! I do send everyone who books a room at Swain House an email including the sentence "If you need directions to Swain House, recommendations for dinner, or if you already have plans during your stay and would like a taxi etc please don't hesitate to ask." Needless to say a Saturday night in August is busy in restaurants and pubs in the area with or without the added pain of a global pandemic... So booking a venue to eat is important during high season at the best of times... Do come and stay again and we'll get you a table in advance! Kind Regards, Jason

Lovely spacious, comfortable room with great attention to detail. Friendly knowledgeable host and good choice for breakfast. Our room was at the front so good for people watching sat in the window but also a bit noisy early morning for us, but then we live in the country so aren’t used to it.
