#1 of 5 Speciality lodging in Watchet
Doniford Bay Holiday Park sits in the centre of the stunning Somerset coast. It's a wonderful place for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. There's everything you'd expect from Haven, including heated pools with awesome water slides inside and out. Out of the water, there's our zip wire, climbing wall and an exciting Leap of Faith for thrill-seekers, as well as table tennis, boules, crazy golf and tennis courts, if you fancy something a little more sedate. Outside of the park, you can visit Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole or see the West Somerset Railway steam trains. Our outdoor pool has just had a fab facelift Feast your eyes on the surrounding seaside and countryside Try out the AquaJets and Aqua Gliders in the indoor pool Pop over to see England’s longest steam train at West Somerset Railway

Stay was OK, caravan was good, clean, spacious and modern ( we had a prestige newer model) and was in a lovely quiet area (rookery ridge). Staff were friendly and efficient in particular those at the gate on arrival and in the cafe bar. What I felt let the stay down was the system for the live lounge venue which required that you book slots. The booking process itself was fine but we found the requirement to leave the venue for 30 minutes between slots frustrating as there is not an indoor bar area as such that you can go to in between the slots, so most people were just stood around outside waiting to go back in, and, being October it was a bit chilly. Then, once people were let back in the same people were being sent to the same tables they had just been asked to leave so why bother to send people outside. It would seem simpler just to ask people who had not booked for the later slot to leave and then sanitise those tables ready for new occupants rather than ask everyone to leave. I appreciate in the height of the summer this may have been difficult due to the volume of people but at no point during our visit was the entertainment full so maybe the procedure should be revised to take into account lower guest numbers and also the colder weather. We have stayed at other Haven sites a few times during Covid restrictions and have not encountered this before and it just soured the evening experience a bit having to stand outside in the cold for 30 minutes. Aside from this the stay was fine but I would not choose to return to this site whilst these procedures are in place.

Thank you for your review and feedback. I am thrilled to hear you enjoyed your caravan and found it to be the high standard we have here at Doniford. Your feedback regarding your evening entertainment system is very valuable and will be reviewed. We are of course looking to go back to a more 'normal' system next tear when we phase out of the covid restrictions that have been put in place this year. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to see you back at Doniford in the future!

Arrived here on 17 th sept for 3 night stay given a caravan at 20 waterside ,, lovely area , but on entering the caravan we felt a bit small for prestige, small cooking area hardly any cupboard space,, the table had 4 chairs at a small table , the sofa was filthy with stains on every seat like someone had wet themselves,, and they expected someone to sleep on there ? !! The decking had stains on the floor like drinks had been spilt , the table we laughed at it was a wooden table very dirty and water damaged looked like it had come from live lounge from years ago,, we then discovered no tv in the main bedroom!! So we rang reception they told us if they steam cleaned sofa it would be wet to sit on , as for no tv , they sent maintenance down , he came went into bed room to tell us no Ariel fittings, and this was the second time this month he had told them this , he said you have been down graded,, I’m afraid, ring them and tell them I did I was told manger not in but would pas on my complaint, she would ring me , by Sunday and no call by her , I rang to be told she was not in but left a message about our caravan that refund of £79 would be in our account in a couple of weeks , I said ok as we was going home Monday , all of Sunday no tv reception no programs at all nothing again in morning so why was that I don’t know it is now October 6 th I rang head office 3 rd Oct told them I had heard nothing she rang the park to be told she would ring me , still nothing , this is why I am not happy this caravan should never been let out! ,, we have always had tv in prestige in main bedroom,, and the filthy sofa ,,! should of gone back to house keeping , with this caravan not to be let out ,,
