We were camping in the farm at the top of the hill and decided to eat in Royal Oak for the two nights we stayed in Winsford. Fantastic menu choice plus 'devil's. We loved the food on the 2 nights we ate here. The staff were friendly, partner said the beer was good and the wine was a delight...the sticky...

This is our second visit to The Royal Oak and we were not disappointed at all. The landlord, Mark, is still as rude to his customers as he was last year but everybody seems to like it, including us! On the other hand he is very attentive to your needs and runs, with Sally and the rest of the staff...

We had eaten here a few years ago, when we had an excellent dinner. Our experience this time was not quite as good. The staff were friendly and helpful, but food was moderate served in cafe like surroundings. It was a bit disappointing

We can't imagine what might have changed, we're a listed building, the exterior and interior is exactly the same as it was 60+ years ago if not more, unless of course it was longer than that when you last visited. We're proud of the accolades and awards bestowed on us, it reflects well on all the people here who work...

When booking this break I was apprehensive about the choice for our friends however they were very pleased with the whole package. The location was ideal for access to all areas of Exmoor, the village green was superb to watch the world go by whether by dog walkers or locals going to work. Inside the Inn we were made welcome...

The Royal Oak was recommended and it did not disappoint in anyway whatsoever. If you are looking for a picture perfect village and a 'chocolate box' pub with great beer and food and an amazing bedroom, then i would suggest you book. Great pub atmosphere and I had one of the best meals i have ever eaten having chosen the...

Just had a lovely stay at The Royal Oak. Nice room, delicious and reasonably priced food and the owners and staff really looked after us. Highly recommended - book early though as it gets booked up because it's so good.

Over many years the Royal Oak has got better and better. We have stayed (caravaning) in the Winsford area of Exmoor during the Easter period for over 20 years. Our "local" for food and refreshment during these short holidays has always been the Royal Oak, and "local" is genuinely what it becomes. Mark, Sally and the team are all so...

Thank you for your review It means a lot to to the staff to get a review from a genuine customer after several fictitious and malicious reviews recently Some of these reviews have accused our boss of being uninterested, this is bizarre and baffling in the least, and insulting to all of us. Our responses are subject to strict censorship...

So our monumental bike ride started and finished here. The pub had been recommended. What wasn't mentioned was how utterly lovely the village is. You could wander around, listening to the birds and admiring the view (all vertically up from the village!) for enough time to develop quite an appetite. What a way to satisfy that! Everything about the pub...

Best description for this place is an Inn. Perfect combination of pub, restaurant and small hotel. It is set in a beautiful small village right in the middle of Exmoor. We stayed for two nights over Easter while visiting relatives. On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and as we were quite late and tired from travelling, we...

Thank you for your review We've been subjected to several malicious and fictitious reviews over recent days as part of an unexplained coordinated attack. It's an uplift to all the team who work hard with us to get a genuine review We hope to see you again sometime Mark & Sally

Would not recommend this pub to family and friends due to uninterested landlord. He is not interested in being friendly and not a good advertisement to Winsford. We have eaten at this pub before and the food was good so thought we would give him the benefit of the doubt but never again! He needs axles don in people skills....

We are always perplexed when someone goes to the trouble of creating a new profile just to air an unreasonable point of view I was on duty in reception when you visited. We are aware of our maximum capacity and we are not able to exceed our limits without the risk of diluting the quality of service that our reserved...
