I stayed here for 3 nights as we had an exhibition through work in Birmingham. Neil the landlord was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We ate at the pub on the Monday night and had a full english every morning, the pub has just started doing food but the standard was very high and freshly prepared. I would definitely recommend staying...

Visited on a recommendation since the new owner has taken this place on. We only stayed for a drink on this occasion to check it out. The food looked absolutely amazing. Presentation and portion sizes looked spot on. Guessing it tasted amazing too overhearing the diners comments. Chatted to the new owner who clearly knows what he's doing and is...

Had a lovely 3 course lunch. Freshly prepared and cooked by knowledgeable staff. Neil is very attentive and Bekki served well. Prices are reasonable, and the menu covers Jacket Potatoes, Sandwiches, Starters, main courses, not to mention the daily specials board, using local produce. Lovely desserts made by Neil, and fresh ground coffee with proper cream. Good luck with the...

Pub now run by a guy called Neil who was at the horse & jockey Freeford Lichfield. Brought his high standards with him. Lovely meal n good pint of pedigree too. Will be coming back regular now. Last time we called in it was a bit rough so we just had a quick beer and went.

Stayed here while seeing friends in the village. Booked prior to the new owner (Neil) taking over but had to cancel one of the rooms 2 days before hand. No issue at all. My friend who lives in the village went to the pub and had a quick chat with Neil to check everything was fine. So from the off,...

This pub has recently been taken over by a new owner (Neil), however we made our booking with the previous one a few months ago. Neil honoured the booking and we had an excellent weekend stay. All the staff were really friendly, the room very clean and well maintained and the food and drink great. The place has an awesome...

Stayed here for one night at the end of a metal festival which was happening nearby. The staff were understanding about letting me into the room earlier and also very helpful and accommodating regarding check out time, helping me contact a taxi etc. Nice room, quiet, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely stay again! Thank you for making my visit...

Fabulous, a warm and friendly welcome after a deeply unpleasant experience being turned away with a baby (!!) at the Waterfront in Barton Marina. Beautifully laid out including a play room, and a lovely atmosphere for families of all ages...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a much loved community pub in the heart of one of Staffordshire's prettiest villages - Barton under Needwood. We're close to the A38, National Memorial Aboretum at Alrewas and nearby Lichfield and Burton upon Trent. Our B&B has 4 ensuite bedrooms and is currently being refurbished - we hope to reopen them in January 2016. We have a warm, welcoming lounge bar, more lively pool and darts bar together with a children's indoor play room, free parking and lovely beer garden. We serve home-cooked, comfort food - simple but delicious! ... more   less
