This pub is set in a lovely, rural location, overlooking the Staffordshire countryside. A roaring fire greeted us inside and the building itself looks to have been recently decorated. We were sat in what appeared to be a function room at the rear of the building, along with five other large family groups. The atmosphere was happy, however there were...

Found this lovely old inn through the Pub Guide on our way down from Edinburgh to London area, and it didn't let us down. Great welcome by Carl, lovely appointed room, great bars with open wood fires. Had a great meal and lovely bottle of Red!

Lovely Sunday lunch with family. Food was absolutely delicious and the prices are reasonable - 9.95 for a carvery of a really high standard. The service for drinks wasn't brilliant, but staff were rushed off their feet as there was a party of 60. They didn't charge us for the drinks as a goodwill gesture. Have been here before for...

The food was excellent, particularly the Sunday carvery, one of the best we have had. The host Carl; made us very welcome, he was all that a host should be,...

A wonderful warm welcome from Carl and his team, the ensuite accommodation is very comfortable, the bar and eating area is cosy and of a high standard and the food is outstanding. I had a glass of the house wine which was a really good Sauvignon blanc. There is good walking nearby and a golf course

Stayed here for two nights as I was attending a wedding nearby. The inn is very quaint and has a lovely ambience. The room ( in the main building) was clean and well furnished but a little dated and cluttered. Not many plug sockets. Bathroom was small and it had a pump cistern and water flow system which was very...

Having passed this establishment several times and having been impressed with its outside presentation, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. It is a lovely old building with a very homely atmosphere. The staff were friendly and the food delicious. Even though we had eaten our fill, the waitress brought us some pieces of scone, butter...
