We visited the Stone House for afternoon tea, a Xmas present from my eldest. We sat in the new extension overlooking the garden. It consisted of a variety of sandwiches cakes , scones with cream and jam and a lovely slice of cake all served with tea and coffee by a lovely young lady by the name of Abbie. We also met the head waiter who came to see us in the bar lounge just to make sure that everything was ok. What a lovely place and great staff. I would thoroughly recommend this venue and experience.
My and my husband used to enjoy regularly bringing our toddler here to use the pool, but having been charged £25! for our last visit just to use the pool we will sadly not be returning as often. When we queried the price, staff said that the prices had gone up since the start of the new year. I wouldn't mind, but the pool was absolutely freezing and considering the amount you pay the changing facilities are not great. We visited early evening so it was reasonably quiet however there was what looked like a "swimming lesson" taking place during our swim time, so we felt obliged to keep asking our child to stick to one side and not get in the way of the teacher. Won't be returning whilst the price to swim is this much.
Came here Saturday evening for a meal with the family and we were not disappointed from the moment we walked in. The staff are all extremely friendly and very attentive nothing was to much trouble, the food was absolutely amazing 🤤 definitely would recommend the saffron special prawn masala and the Indian mixed grill 😋 probably the best Indian meal we have ever had even my brother in law who is a very fussy eater tried something new and out of his comfort zone and throughly enjoyed it. Also talking to the couple who where sat on the table next to us also really enjoyed it. Definitely will be coming back thank you again to all the staff and the chefs for an amazing meal 😘
Visited the hotel for a pre booked family Sunday lunch. Staff helpful and welcoming , quality of food was rated highly by everyone , restaurant and lounge areas clean , warm and had a nice feeling to them. As a wheelchair user everything was accommodated for and staff were ready to help if needed. Thankyou to the gentleman who kindly took group photos, not local to the area but would return or reccommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Yesterday, we had the honour, pleasure and privilege of attending a convivial family birthday lunch hosted by a family member. There were 10 of us in the group. From start to finish, the Stone House Hotel delivered on every conceivable front. The welcome and genuine friendliness of all staff, the efficiency with which all food orders were taken, the quality of all of the dishes served, were just part of a totally excellent experience. The service was second-to-none. The presentation and quality of all dishes was faultless. It was our first visit to this hotel - but it will not be our last. The hotel boasts superb and well-furnished public seating areas and a delightful garden area. All facilities, particularly the toilets were spotless and immaculate. If we had to give it a rating out of 10, it would score 100!…
Myself and my Wife recently visited this hotel for a Spa weekend . Firstly the welcome at reception was good and the standard of our room was great . Plenty of room , nice bed ,the usual amenities and a bath which my wife could relax in and read her magazines while sipping on the complimentary bottle of wine. The building is beautiful with a lovely lounge area and relaxed atmosphere. Onto the food, the quality of which was stunning. My particular favourite being the Salmon and Chorizo and they also have some amazing curries. The staff overall are pleasant and friendly and if you take the time to talk to them they are very attentive . A special shout out to Saaya who is a star, so friendly and again attentive. Onto the only thing that let's the Hotel down and its only a small thing that we've been told is being rectified. The pool is nice but not enough seating , only 2 by the pool when there were several people in the leisure area. That said it really is a minor gripe. In summary...a great get away for a weekend or longer and if I could give half stars it would be 4 1/2 , We will definitely be returning .…
Came up to Stafford for a week's training course (Sunday - Friday) with the hotel pre booked by my employer. Arrived Sunday evening just in time for Dinner. A quick look at the menu and it's very much Indian Cuisine inspired ( Which I really enjoy but if you don't then the inclusive menu will be limited) Throughout the week I tried most of the things available on the menu and have absolutely no complaints, beautiful food. The staff are very very helpful and friendly and rooms are cleaned thoroughly everyday. Now the reasons why I didn't give full marks in the review, I think every floorboard in the building needs replacing! If you need to use the toilet during the night I'm sure the whole corridor would wake because of the creaking floorboards! The "Gym" is very compact and limited. Although I didn't actually use the pool it gave a very heavy scent of chlorine almost making my eyes water whilst I was using the gym facilities. A very calm environment where you can relax though and I'd definitely be happy to return here. …
We stayed here for 1 night as we had had cause to check out of another hotel as we were net too happy with their service. The Stone House hotel was always a very mediocre hotel and was not my first choice. However.... There are new owners, backed by Bespoke Hotels, and it is now a lovely place to stay. The bedrooms are very comfortable with lots of hot water and fluffy towels. The restaurant is brilliant. They have an Asian chef who produces original and delicious dishes from a British and Asian menu. The staff throughout the hotel are delightful and breakfast was excellent too. We would encourage you to stay at this lovely hotel if you are in the area. i=It will be our hotel of choice in the future, for sure.
As a group we have made the annual February Trip to Stafford for over twenty years, this was the first time we have stayed at Stone House. The staff of Stone House have to be some of the nicest people that we encountered, attentive courteous and very well presented. Breakfast cooked to order was delicious and consistent every morning. Our meeting room was up to the standard that we required. The Bedrooms were warm comfortable and spotlessly clean and serviced daily, even the welcome note in pencil was a nice touch “Thank you Dee”. The lunches that we had in the bar sitting on the large comfortable couches were faultless. An afternoon pint or two was relaxing as well. We only dined in Saffron Restaurant on our final night, the food and service were great. Nothing was too much trouble right through from the initial booking with Abbie to check out, this was a relaxing and enjoyable visit to Stafford. I am led to believe that work is planned this year to do some upgrades of the old house, yes it’s an old house that creaks and groans like every old house but that’s all part of the charm. I didn’t use the leisure facilities but they too looked great. Thanks to the very Handy Man who had to get out of bed very early one morning when one of our group locked himself out of his room. Thank You Stone House you were all great and we will see you all next year.…
Excellent service from initial booking through to departure. Stayed in recently refurbished Shugborough Suite - spotlessly clean, spacious and welcoming. Cosy bar area and lovely Indian Restaurant - efficient service and great food. Equally efficient during the breakfast service - freshly cooked food to order - much better than the typical morning buffet provided by many hotels. The staff are a credit to the hotel - thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.
