Popped into Stone to kill a bit of time and have a coffee somewhere with my parents and daughter; late in the afternoon, this was really the only option. Having not been in since it reopened recently, we decided to give it a go. First thing we noticed was the very nice carpet throughout, and the very pleasant furniture layout....

Situated in a great village with a canal just over the road. Cheaper than the chain hotels, in a very old coaching inn, full of charm, with a large beautiful carved staircase. The hotel is undergoing a makeover to upgrade rooms & public areas. Our room was a good size clean with a decent bathroom . The restaurant was closed during...

Booked a 2 night stay but was disappointed with the room. I was in the Lodge which is beside the main hotel. Room smelt musty and the window frame needed the black mould cleaned off. Towels and coffee were not replaced and the bed was not at all comfy, glad it was only a 2 night stay. Would have been...

Recently stayed here for a few days on business. Points to mention: The hotel is in the middle of a refurb however this doesnt affect your stay too much. Ignore the negative comments on here, you get what you pay for. I opted for the main hotel and it was fine. Rooms were serviced daily if wanted, tea facilities in...

We popped to the the farmers market and decided to pop in for coffee and cake to support the local businesses. The decor was lovely and we found a nice table, it was busy and it had many staff about. We looked for a menu, nothing and had to search for one, ending up at the bar to ask for...

From the moment we arrived, we were treated to a friendly and helpful reception by enthusiastic staff who were clearly proud of their surroundings and how the newly renovated areas were presented. The evening menu was comprehensive and well priced, and very well prepared. The room was warm and spacious, with a pleasant en-suite complete with lashings of very hot...

Without doubt the worst Hotel Ever purely down to the lack of sense or service offered. Stayed here while in the area for a party. Stone is a lovely place but this hotel simply makes it feel like hell. 1st, didn't appreciate the staff scrawling my bank card details on a scrap of paper for no good reason (room was...

A friendly hotel full of character and period features. This hotel is presently being renovated but with no disruption to my stay recently. Good value both for the rooms and for the food. Not what I expected given previous reviews of this hotel. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again.

Well where do I start I suppose the carpet through the common areas although new looking laying it on the existing old carpet is always a bad idea whilst also being a health and safety issue.Meeting with Mrs. Veroni flashed an unpleasant image of that nut job in "Misery" to mind as seen had me labeled as a scruffy awfully...

Some have been great and some have been poor, But i have never been treated the way I was treated at this establishment. Don't get me wrong ALL OF THE STAFF WERE GREAT. but the MANAGERESS!
