Well, couldn't fault the ambience, food was spectacular (as usual), music til 1.30. Great staff! 🙂 so friendly and helpful. We were anxious as we didn't get our usual room but Thorpe was clean, cosy, large bathroom with lovely shower and roll top bath. The usual complimentary bottle of gin and coffee maker and large comfy bed. Perfect! Just wish...

We popped in here for drinks and snacks ( after a walk in the amazing Sculpture Park opposite ) just as the sun was setting. The building looked really welcoming, glowing in the dark surrounded by countryside. The interior is quite vintage looking and beautifully done with a mix of subtle neutral shades, low lighting and a mixture of seating...

Stayed here for 4 days over Christmas in the Crawford room in the cottage. New England style decor - more Martha"s Vineyard than Churt Chic! Fabulous bed with best cotton sheets and duvet . Slept wonderfully after soaking in the enormous bath with unlimited and very unBritish like gushing hot water which filled in 2 minutes rather than 2 hours!....

Stayed here for my nieces wedding down the road. Lovely hotel/pub/restaurant. Breakfast lovely too and staff very friendly. Beautiful rooms. I stay with my daughter in the family room (Austen) right at the top and again beautiful but had no sleep what so ever as every ten minutes the boiler or outside generator or whatever it was in the bathroom...

Three of us had lunch here in August. Mother-in-law and I both had the crab salad, hubby had something else. Exactly four hours later MIL and I are both ill. A clear case of food poisoning from lunch. Hubby phones the place to warn them against serving crab to anyone else... they say they'll call back. These things happen. We...

Great place to go for long walks in the forest, before coming back to the warmth of the hotel and enjoy a glass of their delicious sloe gin. There is a fire place in the pub with is really enjoyable. The food is delicious and the wine list amazing!

Visiting UK from Australia. What a breath of fresh air from previous accommodation at nearby Haslemere. The room was up to date with comfortable beds and the bathroom was of a generous size with a separate shower and bath. All in all a great room for the price.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we received first class service from everyone we met. Our room was spacious and well presented, except for the chest of drawers which was just a bit too distressed and spoilt the otherwise lovely room. Also, whilst the anti-room did provide good tea and coffee facilities and very generous whiskies...

The staff are outstanding. A very warm welcome and great food. The breakfasts were excellent and the complimentary gin , vodka and scotch were a pleasant surprise. The sculpture park opposite is a must do.
