Detailed Reviews
Hotel staff very friendly, approachable and relaxed. Convenient, attractive location with lots of outside space. This is a review of Room 3 Ground Floor opposite breakfast room. We stayed for 3 nights with our dog and it's because we had the dog that this room was allocated. The room was very spacious with adequate furniture and clean. The bed was not comfortable as the coils/springs could be felt on the surface; we wish we'd asked for a matress topper. Tea and coffee plus biscuits provided but no saucers for the cups. The one thing that was really upsetting and the reason for my review was the state of the bathroom, a very tiny space off of the bedroom the walls and ceiling lined with bits of shower cladding. The shower cubicle door had obviously broken at some point and been replaced with an inventive fitting of a piece of shower curtain. The sealant on the back of the toilet was yellow, as though stained by urine. The basin had seen better days. It made us both cringe everytime we went in there. I'm certain the housekeeping staff work very hard to keep it clean but it really needs to be replaced. The shower pressure was so good that the shower head shot out of its fixing, something that caused my husband to get very cross with each morning. A warning to future guests; opening the window in the shower makes you completely visible to the car park as I discovered. The room is a good size, luckily we had ear plugs as its next to the gravel car park.

We attended for a celebration afternoon tea for my daughter's birthday. She had specific dietary requirements which were catered for completely. The receptionist and chef were most conscientious in making sure she would be ok. The dining room was lovely. The only thing we objected to was the inappropriate loud unsavoury chat from the waiter which marred our experience. Such a shame. Won't be returning.

The hotel look very nice from the outside, if you ignore the dried-up pond and its medieval theme, with antler chandeliers, knights in armour and wooden beamed ceilings is charming. Hotel cleanliness is good.
We started in Room 12, however it soon became apparent that there was no heating or hot water and after complaints (plural) to the reception desk, we were finally moved to another room, Room 6. Able at last to have a shower.
Room 6 was fine until the bar staff decided to do their glass recycling at 1:45am on a Sunday morning. So much for a restful nights sleep.
Breakfast was fine, not much choice in the way of fresh fruit, but the self-service English Breakfast buffet had most components. A choice of eggs might be nice, and maybe a jug containing cold water. Other than that breakfast was fine.
Staff were pleasant.

We had a lovely stay this weekend - room was clean cosy and had all we needed including a nice jacuzzi bath - we had a complimentary bottle of champagne and flowers which was very much appreciated as had issues last year when it was under the old management.
The new manager is wonderful and attentive and looks like he likes to get involved too which is nice to see.
Lovely cooked breakfast and a nice selection of juices cereals fruit and croissants.
Set in beautiful grounds but unfortunately the weather wasn't great so we didn't get to sit out - good location and 5 min journey in to town centre where there is a good selection of pubs and restaurants.
Would recommend

We stayed here last year and really enjoyed it.
The staff were friendly/attentive and nothing was too much trouble.
The meals were all very good with plenty of fresh vegetables. We can highly recommend the Sunday carvery-great food and value.
As the weather was good we were able to make use of the grounds with our daughter on the huge lawn. The gardens are well kept and there is lots of space.
Keep the good work up.

We stayed at the Farnham House Hotel for my daughter’s wedding which was held in St Mary’s Bentley followed by a reception at Northbrook Park which is a few minutes drive up the road. In effect we took over most of the hotel for the wedding - all the bridesmaids and a number of relatives and friends stayed there with us.
The staff at the hotel could not have been more welcoming and helpful. It was like staying in our own country house for the weekend which was exactly what we wanted. On the night before the wedding we hosted a dinner in the Oak room which was provided by the caterers who usually do weddings at the hotel. It was delicious and staff very good. The same company also provided a finger buffet lunch for guests before going to the wedding. Breakfast was self service with plenty of options and very good. Rooms clean and comfortable. We used the Cedar Room for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready before the wedding. It is a lovely light and bright room and this worked very well. The manager went above and beyond providing mirrored, iron and board, coat rails etc. Nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel has a pleasant garden and is set in pleasant countryside. It made the perfect backdrop for photos of the bride and bridesmaids with the wedding car before setting off to the church.
All in all I could not recommend the hotel more highly.

We were recommended to stay here for attending a wedding in farnham at another location. We were not told that on our first day and night there was a wedding on in the hotel. We arrived during the photos and were told no dinner was available since they were attending to the wedding and we could use the bar but this was the same bar as the wedding party and guests. Thankfully we had booked somewhere else for dinner. We called the hotel twice before our arrival to check our booking and also to check the amenities in the room, neither times were we pre warned and we were also told there was no hairdryer in the room, on arrival we found out there was.
The night of the wedding we returned around 11pm, and our room was right above the entrance and banquet room. The music was so loud, we put up with it for an hour or so then had to call the hotel to ask when it was going off. We were told 12am, it was already passed this. The wedding guests then stayed up until 3.30am in the main part of the hotel just under our room and we got no sleep until around 4am. When we checked out we complained about this and all we got was a sorry you should have been told. We had to bring up the conservation since on check out we weren't even asked how our stay was. Safe to say we won't be back and we will not be recommending this hotel to anyone.

A very good friend of ours, decided to get married, however the venue was too far to drive there and home on the same day, so we decided to stay over and make the most of it. The bride had suggested a few local hotels and after a quick visit to a certain website. We booked 2 nights at the Farnham House Hotel. We arrived early in the afternoon, (it very easy to find). The hotel looked very grand and beautiful, a very old building previously a school now turned into one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. We were greeted by the manager and the receptionist who were very polite and helpful. The manager, gave us a full run down on times for breakfast and local places to visit or a bite to eat and offered to help us with our bags. Unfortunately when booking I forgot to ask for a ground floor room but that wasn't any trouble and the manager happily changed the room for us. The whole hotel is beautifully decorated and our room was oak panelled in keeping with the older parts of the building. Our room was spotlessly clean with fresh soft towels on the bed. We had a small patio just outside if we wanted to sit out in the beautiful grounds that surround the hotel.
The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The duvet was freshly washed and cleaned. We both slept well.
Next morning we joined several other people for full English breakfast. All freshly cooked and ready to help ourselves, tea and coffee as well as fruit juices were also available. If a cooked breakfast wasn't wanted, there were several choices of breakfast cereals as well as fruit and yogurts. Perfect.
After attending our friend's wedding we returned back to the hotel and had a couple of drinks at the bar, the young lady who was on duty at the desk and bar was very cheerful and polite. And listened to my husband drunken ramblings. We were once again joined by the manager who always seemed to be working, but was very pleasant and we talked for quite a while and gave us some history of the hotel which was very nice.
Our second night stay was just as good as the first followed with another cooked breakfast. We were joined by several other people that also had attended the wedding, which was quite nice.
After breakfast we packed up and settled the remaining balance and made our way home.
We can honestly say that the staff of the Farnham House Hotel are wonderful and really do make you feel welcome along with a fantastic place to stay whether it's for a couple of nights or longer. The hotel is very popular for weddings and also hold private parties and we would definitely recommend Farnham House Hotel x

I've stayed here about 6-7 times this year so far. The building itself, the surroundings and the staff are very nice. The breakfast is decent and the downstairs bar is quite cozy.
However, in my experience the quality of your stay will depend on the room you get allocated, seemingly at random. Some rooms such as number 3 (I think) are very pleasant and well appointed and almost 4 star standard, others (the twin room and some others on the top floor) are ok and around 3 star, but others (number 12 or the single room), whilst essentially clean, are actually quite unpleasant: dingy, dilapidated and in severe need of an overhaul, especially the carpets. I've always paid the same rate for the room (apart from the single which is the cheapest) and have never experienced such a bizarre difference in quality within one building.
This hotel could be really good - even just changing the carpets would go a long way - but the fear of being allocated one of the rubbish rooms makes me reluctant to choose it unless there are no other options within my budget.

Booked for a couple of nights to attend a family wedding in a nearby hotel, wish we could have booked there instead. This place looks good from the outside but the staff and facilities aren`t that good, it relies on weddings for it`s income and paying guests seem to be an inconvenience. Breakfast was adequate but for other meals a restaurant or take away from the nearest town was the only choice. This hotel needs to update it`s website and either upgrade or be honest about what it can provide. Clean and comfortable room but not much to recomend,

Sorry have only just seen this. My daughter booked a package. We were very happy with what we had. Needed to adjust a bit due to preferences and health issues but they were helpful
I'm sorry I do not know as I did not take a dog.
Yes we have 2 rooms on the ground floor that we allow dogs to stay in.
The food is generally very good. We have eaten there when they have done buffet lunches as there was a large party. This was to a high standard, so i would of thought the restaurant food where it is prepared individually would be better
