Shoddy service with covid being used as an excuse. Don’t expect your room to be cleaned, expect to be woken up for check out despite being offered late check out as a HH member and expect no food or beverage service. Overall, shocking. Would have been better off in the Travelodge with the same standards

Hotel's Favourite
One issue I had was the usual challenge with any/all Hiltons - getting a late checkout guaranteed (it's frequently moaned about in business travel blogs, mags, forums, etc.). This is not the hotel's fault, and "we got there in the end" as they say, but as usual for any Hilton stay,, only after asking at check in, then in the morning, then at mid-day. If Hilton would sort that with some sort of guaranteed late check out time benefit, it would cure many ills of the business traveller's planning. I'm grateful to the hotel for doing what they could. The only other minor issue I had was that the battery in the TV remote wasn't working on arrival, but fixed within the hour after a call to reception. Otherwise, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable. As a Hilton diamond, I was upgraded from a guest room to a "superior" room (I think the difference is a higher floor and perhaps larger windows with more natural light). In mine, one entire wall "was" the window - wall to wall, floor to ceiling, with loads of natural light and good blackout curtains as well. The front desk said that they would have been happy to offer a "corner room" but none were available that evening. Speaking of the staff at the reception desk, they all were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful, both evening and morning- always a smile on hand. The team in the restaurant during breakfast were also fantastic, the food was delicious, the hotel does a really good job of offering a buffet style service under COVID restrictions, and the restaurant itself is nice - it doesn't feel like at all like a typical hotel "business" restaurant. The location is great - easy walk to bus stops and the local train station, for travel within the area and/or within greater London, and a very short walk to all that the Kingston town centre has to offer, also a short walk to the riverside. it would make for a great leisure stay as well as a great business one. Overall, a good experience, and I'd stay there again.

Lovely stay at the Doubletree in Kingston. It was very clean and accommodating for a family with two young boys. Interconnected rooms were brilliant. The choice and quality at breakfast was great. The staff who were on duty during breakfast were all very kind and nothing was too much. George in particular was incredibly helpful and very good with our children, he is a big asset to the hotel. Looking forward to our next stay.

Our family is here for the second time, and each time we have been blown away by the great service and friendly people. I’m writing this review just having finished breakfast, and had some great staff watching out for us. Props to George, Aivo, and Richard! This hotel is definitely our first choice here in Kingston. The location is great. Very close to the Bengals center, with loads of shopping and easy walk-through access to the outdoor market. Thank you guys! Keep up the great work!

Booked a one night stay for 18th December for myself and my husband. Arrived at reception and noticed a sign advising guests that the restaurant would be closed that evening and that room service would only be offering pizza and curry up to closing at 9pm!! Asked about this and were told it was due to a private party taking place. No one told me about this when I booked the room 8 days previously. The only communication I received from the hotel prior to our arrival was an email asking if I wanted to participate in various upgrades to the booking but no mention of the restaurant being closed for paying guests. A week before Christmas and with all decent restaurants already booked we were left with nothing. When we returned later from shopping we were shocked to see that all the chairs and tables from the bar area had been removed to allow for the disco. So in fact not only the restaurant was out of bounds but the bar area too. Lots of staff standing around but nobody seemed to be clearing away empty glasses or indeed wiping down tables. We left and went up to our room which was like an ice box. Called reception and they said they operate the heat from there and it could take up to 20 minutes to reach a suitable temperature in the room. Failing this they would bring up a heater. Bearing in mind it was a particularly cold weekend the room temperature should have already been set to receive guests. Only one small shampoo etc left in the bathroom together with one bath towel and one hand towel. For 2 people!! The following morning at breakfast we gave our room number but they didn’t have our room number listed with the breakfast option. No one to explain the breakfast layout or the self service teas and coffees. Saw other guests and just followed them. All in all a disappointing experience. We are local people and often come in here for a drink but unfortunately the whole experience has left us feeling undervalued .
