As mentioned in other reviews, this is a modest old style motel, ready for an update. There are gates that are locked at night. Good heating & hot showers, central location- easy walk to other town facilities. All ground floor rooms, and daily servicing.

My husband & I had a night there on our way home to Ipswich. We arrived at 7pm and the lady was so nice booking us in. Our double room was along the back therefore we didn't hear any road noise. It is an old place with rather ancient fixtures & fittings but everything worked. Air conditioning, kettle, toaster, fridge,...

Im not sure that many people would chose to stay in Walgett other than a place to stay on your way through to another destination. Unfortunately the entire town has a very oppressed feeling due to everything being boarded and locked up. Obviously crime is a big problem here. The Hotel is a basic hotel suited to the purpose of...

I stayed here for two nights on a recent holiday, as I wanted to experience the free artesian pool in Walgett, which does not have a listing here on Trip Advisor. THE POOL IS GREAT. It is open from 8 to 4 on weekdays, closed weekends. The water is super hot and clean, with a fast flow which keeps it...

Its pretty easy to bag the motels of outback NSW because they all reflect the social issues of the towns. Yes you do get locked in at night behind a rather large steel gate but that is much preferable to having your car wrecked or stolen. The motel does look a bit run down and the rooms are tired and...

Stayed here on our trip through Vic & NSW. Very comfortable room & good size. Managers were very polite & helpful. We had our dinner at the RSL. Meal was excellent, best meal we had during our whole trip. Club was very modern. The gates at the motel were there for your security & we had access all the time....

The Walgett Motel is owned by Walgett RSL and is across the road. Dinner can be had (apparently) at the RSL till 8:30 most evenings. A lot of enthusiasm from the manager and this shows in the neat and tidy rooms. However some fittings and furnishings could do with more attention. Gates keep cars secure and so be sure to...

Thanks Bill for taking the time to be our first guest to write a review since the RSL bought the motel. Your comments are appreciated.

Check-in, lady had to unlock the sliding door to allow me in. Advised that black sliding gates close and go into lockdown at 8pm (memories of the movie '28 Days'). I felt more secure when we parked and found 12 tradesmens utes around the car parking! Onsite dinner.... Think primitive and survival, with 1950's flashing light bulbs and hang made...
