Stopped in for what we thought would be a country pub lunch on a day trip from Hobart. Food totally blew us away. Steak was thick, juicy and beautifully cooked. Pepper sauce made with actual peppercorns. Calamari was meltingly tender and crunchy Asian style salad...More
I recently travelled around Tasmania for 10 days with my extended family; elderly parents, brother, sis-in-law and 2 young girls. I admit I had some doubts from other reviews I'd read prior but thought 'it's only 1 night'. We were all so pleasantly surprised -...More
Three in party, couple and elderly father of one. We were visiting The Wall so stayed overnight at the pub in Bronte Park. Very, very basic accomodation, rooms have no air conditioning , clean but furniture appears to be unchanged since the hotel was originally...More
We stopped here for the night on our way to Strahan from Hobart. This was a unique place to stay. The room was not modern but it was warm and comfortable on a cold day in early November. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating....More

As a family we have stayed here for more than 20 years and we have stayed recently and were not met with anyone friendly or helpful, we stayed in one of the renovated cabins (number 2) and there were many problems that if addressed would make the stay value for money, a teaspoon would be a good start and a check on light bulbs, a key to the back door and maybe a front door key that doesn't need fiddling around with to get it to work, a shower screen on the shower and an extension lead for the electric blanket so it can reach the PowerPoint, enough wood for the fire so we don't have to beg borrow and steal from the neighbours (sorry Mr Wooley) these are not even major things to fix but the management brushed them all off, if the returning families are put off this place it will continue to deteriorate as repeat business and good will keep it going, I give it 2 more seasons before it is bankrupt at this rate.
