Hotel Bruny itself should be demolished! (our accommodation off-site was VERY nice! *It is quite a long way from the ferry to the hideous "Hotel Bruny" - only to be told by the nice staff that (thankfully) our accommodation was "about half way back behind the café" - which it was. The Bruny Island Café is a wonderful oasis, innovative...

My wife and I recently had the 'fish platter' here for dinner (Monday 16th). The fish was cooked within an inch of its life and the calamari would have been at home on any expensive pair of hiking boots. After a very disappointing dinner we headed off and were in bed by 10:30. I was awake again by midnight with...

Dear Saint B, I am sorry that your experience at Hotel Bruny was not what it should have been. I have worked in the hospitality industry since 1990 and can assure you that we take the quality of our food and our service very seriously. On the night of the 16th we served 256 meals including 24 of our very...

Only popped in for a couple of pints and a takeaway. Very friendly staff with the exception of one slightly gruff barmaid. Had a delicious takeaway with a bottle of wine from the adjoining bottle shop. The only pub on the island and it's a gooden!

Great place for food. We're on tour through Bruny Island. I had the Lamb, it was succulent, tasty and tender. Lovely array of fresh green vegetables. Match with a Pagan Cherry and Apple Cider from the hotel cellar. Highly recommend .

We drove passed this place and wouldn't have given it a second thought if my wife hadn't read some positive reviews. Based on these we tried our luck later in the day. Once inside we were impressed with the friendly service and comfortable restaurant and bar. It was heavily booked but as we arrived so early they fitted us in....

The explorers cottage was in a quiet peaceful place. It is well set up for 4 adults. The place could do with a bit of TLC, the place had very dusty furniture. The wild live was equally curious about us. A trip to the lighthouse is definitely worth it.

Great sea views, sitting outside eating a delicious meal of fish and chips. Chips were crunchy, fish batter thinly coated. Could have done better with the salad though. Friendly staff, meals served quickly, fresh and hot.

It is a big one for myself. However, it is too big for me but it is a nice one. I stay there one night and the owner gave me to rent another night. Then I can have more time to explore Bruny Island. Also, that is my X'mas gift.
