I used to travel a lot to Burnie for work and had reason to come back in a new job. I booked in to the Duck House and was happy to find nothing had changed. The Duck House is actually 3 cottages on the same block - Duck House, Mrs Phillpotts and Amelia's. This time I stayed in Amelia's for...

I stayed in Amelia's Cottage with a friend for four nights between 13/10/16 & 17/10/16. The cottage is self contained and boasts every comfort and amenity and is excellent value for money. It is located within easy walking distance to the shopping centre, cafes and restaurants and Burnie is a great base from which to explore the north west coast...

This is THE most delightful accommodation imaginable. Picture a lovingly and beautifully restored and maintained older cottage (complete with mod cons such as climate control throughout), antique beds with loads of cushions, claw-foot bath tub, fully equipped kitchen, all the supplies for a big bacon and free range egg breakfast (and you can pick some herbs from the garden for...

We found 2 Princes Street a warm and hospitable experience with firm bed and generous breakfast provisions. The house is lovingly restored and decorated and we loved the space and warmth of our stay. We sat in every room to sink in the beauty and light at the front of the house and wished we could have stayed longer to...

Motor biking around Tasmania we stayed in some ordinary places, however, The Duck House was recommended by the ladies in the Devonport Tourist Information Centre, so we thought "Why Not?". From our first meeting with "Titch", everything was amazing from the building, the facilities, the food which Titch supplied for our 4 night stay and the freedom of the gardens....

Had a wonderful nights stay in Mrs Philpott's house. Beautiful breakfast supplied. Superb bacon and fresh free ranged eggs. Apart from our intruder during the night resulting in the loss of an iPad, the stay was relaxing and we couldn't have asked for more time

Just as described. Very comfortable. Lovely old cottage - nice to have space. Wonderful supplies in the fridge, lovely garden, convenient location. Great to have a washing machine. Very friendly but non-intrusive owners live next door. Loved our few days here - a good place to explore the north coast. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant recommended by the owners too.

After driving from Hobart to Burnie via the west coast we stopped here for a wonderful evenings rest. I could not fault the accommodation of the breakfast supplied by Titch. I would say the only issue we had was the fact that all bedrooms and the bathroom had glass windows, meaning we had to watch our privacy. I will certainly...

My golfing mate and I stayed in Amelia's House, which is part of The Duck House. What an amazing house. Lovingly restored and beautifully decorated. The owners, Lynne and Tich (I think, and I apologise if I have spelt it wrong) were extremely attentive and helpful. Extremely clean and beautifully presented. I would recommend it highly to all and sundry....

We had the pleasure to stay at the Duck house during Christmas 2015. The place was fantastic. The location was good and breakfast provided was wonderful. This was the best accommodation we had whilst in Tasmania. My children absolutely loved the place and it was wonderful place to return to and relax after a long day of exploring Tasmania. If...
