My girlfriend and I stayed here in the first weekend on February. We we will be back, 2 days are not enough. The lodge is fantastic. The accommodation is nestled amongst the trees which adds to whole experience. Rooms were well appointed. We stayed in a spa room and couldn't fault it. Fire place was excellent. Wood, kindling and paper...

We've been visiting Cradle for more than two decades now but never stayed over and finally we did to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Firstly the location of the lodge is wonderful literally on the edge of the national Park and immersed in beautiful bushland. Great welcome with informative and efficient check-in. . We stayed in a spa suite located a...

I went to the lodge for christmas. Maybe it is more for hikers and people who don't want to make a big thing for Christmas. However a couple of Christmas trees and a few bowls with Christmas balls did not do it for me. No carols being played. In fact you would be hard pressed to even know it was...

What the hell. This place is magnificent. In the middle of summer we had sleet. Who cares! We had a great fire in our cabin, no TV! Which after a while, when you get your head around it, was tops. It absolutely pissed and sleeted down, who cares. If you don't have the wet weather gear go to the shop....

We stayed in cabin 95 for 3 nights in January. It was a spa suite with slow combustion log fire which was very efficient despite it being cold and wet, about 2-4 degrees overnight. Bed was comfortable and facilities good. We were up the back on the hill away from the main area which made it nice and quiet and...

We were in the Pencil Pine Cabins which over looked Pencil Pine (and not the central lake) and it looked like they may have been old staff quarters because of the location and that they are much cheaper which suited us. It's very modern and comfortable inside and it's a very short walk to the lodge via the back door....

Our spa suite had a private verandah from where we daily watched a family of pademelons feed. Truly magical. Cosy room with wood fire. Great little touches with port, canapés, cookies, chocolates. Wonderful location. Great breakfast. Enjoyed a tasty meal at the Tavern Bar. Bit expensive but lovely.

Peppers was absolutely amazing. Within the heart of the national park, plenty of walks and tours to keep you occupied. Wild animals were at our doorstep and within the grounds of the lodge. The cabins are absolutely delightful, can't wait to return!

The fact that this has Peppers above the door doesn't make it a luxury property, it just means they charge a premium for what is the old Lodge with updated bathrooms and a turn down service. The rooms are dated (aside from the bathrooms, and they really should have added under-floor heating when the update was done) and not at...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is a unique wilderness experience, set right on the edge of the spectacular World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park, just 2 hours drive from Launceston and 1.25 Hours from Devonport. At Cradle Mountain, you'll soon discover that fine food and wine are an unavoidable part of this rustic holiday. This superb escape showcases the best Tasmania has to offer with warm hospitality, sensational locally produced food and wine, breathtaking scenery and magnificent wilderness surrounds. The Lodge itself is warm and inviting with open fires, comfy chairs and cosy spots, perfect for enjoying the postcard views or just relaxing. Around Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge there are more than 20 walking trails that suit every fitness level. Imagine wandering through towering forests with trees older than mankind. Discover animal and plant varieties found nowhere else on earth. You can trek mountains, explore trails on horseback or mountain bike, and learn to fly-fish - just some of the many activities on offer. And when it's time to relax, guests can indulge in a therapeutic massage or sauna at the Waldheim Alpine Spa - the perfect place to soak away tension and time. Set discreetly within its pristine wilderness setting, Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge has 86 private timber cabins, offering 4 grades of accommodation. Each provides every comfort you could need, some with spa baths. Road Closures: There are a number of road closures around Tasmania at the moment that are affecting accessibility to Cradle Mountain. The Kimberley bridge in between Elizabeth town and Railton on the B13 is closed until further notice as the bridge has collapsed. The C138 from Mole Creek to Gowrie Park is inaccessible as the road has been closed due to the recent flooding. The C137 however from Mole Creek through Paradise just outside of Sheffield is open and a good way to bypass around the closures.
