Unfortunately we only had one night in this cosy and comfortable cabin that is perfectly located in the bush land. Apart from the entrance, all the windows and deck face the bush, which makes it both quiet and restful, so it feels like you are really in the wilderness. The cabin was very well equipped, the showers warm and we could cook a basic meal in the small kitchen. It wasn’t a cabin in the usual sense, as it was more fancy, and more expensive than a standard cabin in a caravan park, however it was worth it for the location, high standard fit out and beautiful natural setting. The happy hour in the resort hotel was worth a visit too. I would recommend booking early, because there is limited accommodation options in Cradle Mountain and it might be disappointing to miss out on one of these gorgeous cabins.

Stayed here for 3 nights in a Spa Cabin and it was divine. The cabin had a great large bed, a very comfortable lounge area, a well-equipped kitchenette and a spa with a sensational wilderness view. No other cabins visible from ours with various marsupials visible from the balcony as they wandered past. While there is no WiFi in the cabins, there is now decent Telstra & Optus coverage, as well as a TV (unlike some of the neighboring properties). Staff were very friendly and full of information about the area. To their credit, the one night the restaurant was booked out they happily gave honest recommendations for eateries at nearby competing properties.

We had dinner in the restaurant one night which was excellent and served quickly. The serving staff were very knowledgeable and could tell you exactly where the food was sourced from! Do note the restaurant is small and probably can't accommodate the whole property so bookings are vital.

You do have to be realistic with your expectations when going to Cradle Mountain - it's a remote location so everything is more expensive as things have to be shipped in. Accommodation in the area is pricey across the board but this hotel is far more reasonable than the one down the road and we couldn't have been happier staying there, will definitely return one day!

You must go with basic expectations or you will be disappointed. Cabins themselves are perfect and comfortable and clean. I was happily surprised to find a dishwasher, large clean shower snd lovely quiet outlook. We had a car and it is very quick and easy drive to Cradle mountain parking to the do daily walks. This is a 3 star rated property and if the cabin is all they offered I would have been very happy with what I paid for and received. Every other detail they offer is very disappointing They do offer coffee in the morning starting at 830am. First day coffee was not very good and the next day no one at machine to make it so we missed out. We also booked dinner here both nights. They could not cope as a restaurant and left us waiting in lounge for 45 mins for our 8pm dinner booking and the other 8pm couple seated after 9pm. We cut our losses, only ordered a main and canceled the next night dinner and had at Peppers instead which was very professional. My suggestion is come with very limited expectations of a clean and very comfortable cabin in a good position and you won’t be disappointed.
Cradle Mountain itself is stunning and extremely well run with information centres, buses every 10 mins and stunning well maintained walks. It was a lovely holiday

Beautiful location, standard studio cabins exceeded my expectations, they were large, clean, warm, tastefully furnished and kitchen was equipped pretty good (no oven but plug in frypan with lid and no sharp knives). Rooms are not serviced daily. Staff were a mixed bag - some friendly, warm and hospitable, others confused and no idea what was going on, some downright rude. They stuffed up booking a bit but was no big problem, yet no acknowledgement from staff of the confusion, delays and slight inconvenience. (They seem to be allergic to telephones, I can see why my over half dozen calls leading up to the trip were never answered - as they pottered about trying to sort out their booking mess they let the phone ring out several times.) Heaps of DVDs to borrow and free pool table was fun, restaurant/lounge area warm and cozy. Restaruant food was really bad - my kids dished up better meals when they were in primary school. The food was priced and presented like fine dining, a couple of dishes and the sides were ok, but some of the food we should have sent back, pasta was dry, tasted bad and we suspect was reheated left overs, pork belly was taken back home to dogs it was so bad (hope my friends dog is ok). My advice would to be self cater. Had we not visited the restaurant I probably would have rated Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village with four or five stars. All in all a good stay but let down by restaurant and some staff, would consider staying again but fully self cater.

We stayed one night in a Premium Luxury Spa Cottage. The cottage was well equipped with kitchen, a spa facing the beautiful wilderness gas fireplace and a nice verandah. We could see little pademelon walking past the cottage and it felt very secluded. The cottage was also very roomy and the bathroom had a good sized shower.

The staff at reception were friendly and professional.

The bar area had a good amount of seating both inside and outside.

The restaurant unfortunately was disappointing and the reason I haven't given 5 stars. I'd read reviews prior to arrival and didn't set my expectations high. For entrée we had the bruschetta which was pretty bland (lacked basil). For main I had the vegan chickpea curry, which was decent but very expensive for what was essentially tinned chickpeas and some spices with rice. My wife had the pasta and meatballs for her main, and the pasta was hard and stuck together. The meatballs were also nothing special.

Also the waiting staff all but disappeared after bringing out our food, and we had to flag down a waiter to bring us the bill. He never returned with the bill so had to pay at the register.

I understand that, given the isolated location, brining in ingredients would be more costly, but given Tasmania's reputation for great food and hospitality I'd hoped for better.

Other than that, the accommodation was fantastic and we'd definitely stay again, however next time we'll be utilising the in-room kitchen facilities.

We were recommended another two hotels for our stay in Cradle Mountain but I am glad that we managed to have found Wilderness Village and even more so that they we were able to find lodgings for the nights we were in Cradle Mountain.

We had stayed in a previous cabin type lodge before coming up to Cradle Mountain and although that was nice in a quaint way, Wilderness Village cabins are in a whole new bracket.

We booked the cabin with the built in jacuzzi and we couldn't have been more ecstatic. Modern, well maintained and spacious, the cabin had a jacuzzi built in the middle of it with a view of veranda that looked out into some trees. Even without the blinds drawn, you would get adequate privacy.

The cabin came equipped with an electric fireplace for the living room and an electric heater nearer the sleeping area. The cabin came with a bay window just in front of the jacuzzi and a window just above the king size bed that allowed light to flow in once the morning came. For those that prefer total darkness when they sleep, all windows and glass doors come with blinds that can be drawn.

If you're lucky, you may be able to see some wildlife during dawn and dusk from the private veranda. We manage to spot a pademelon, possum as well as a pink breasted robin.

Wilderness Village is in a great location that's a quick 5 minutes drive towards both the Devils@Cradle reserve as well as the visitors centre for Cradle Mountain.

Though the quality of the food at Hellyers ( the restaurant that is part of Wilderness Village) was good, it is a bit on the pricey side. The menu is extensive enough for a two night stay and is only available as a two or three course set.

All in all, it was an amazing stay and I highly recommend it over the other accommodations that are in the same vicinity.

We could not fault our stay and found the accommodation to be good value for money. 4 of us shared a 2-bedroom chalet and found the standard better than similar places we had stayed at in Hobart and Strahan. The host at reception was very friendly and made us feel like they valued our business. We liked the location which is walking distance to the visitor centre and enjoyed our one night of dining in the restaurant. We were worried that we may encounter overpriced accommodation in an area as beautiful as Cradle Mountain, and came away from the Wilderness Village pleasantly surprised.

Individual units set in private Bushland. Hotel does not have free wifi inside the unit, so need to relied on your own phones' internet. Beautiful unit with comfortable lounge and kitchen areas. Kitchen was well stocked so that cooking is possible. Bathroom was big with a great spa that can be use without worrying that it will disturb the neighbours. There were heaters in the bedrooms and works well, however in the lounge and kitchen areas are not so well. Resort restaurant is walkable from the unit and provided nice foods that was a bit on expensive side. Hotel is about a 10 mins drive from the Cradle mountain information centre. Although, the resort is on the expensive side, but it is worth the money.

we spent quite a bit of time in the cabin while visiting cradle mountain to do some trekking. very comfortable and well equipped cabins with a nice view of the surroundings. we had regular visits from some crows (or what looked like crows) and a family of wallabies. take note that there's no wifi in the cabins and I couldn't access the free wifi in the main block housing reception, lounge and restaurant. the restaurant menu looked good and reasonably priced, but we ended up eating in the cosy cabin both nights as tired after a day's trekking

The Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village is a nice compromise for those looking to cut costs, but not keen on the idea of camping or a caravan park.
The cabins are actually bigger than they appear on the website, and have a full kitchen, decent bathroom and good size living area, with a small balcony from where you can view birds, wallabies and echidnas.
There’s no shop on site anymore, but the store at the adjacent camping ground has all the basics, including milk, meat, some vegetables, cheese, ice creams, drinks etc. However, make sure you bring your own wine as they are only allowed to sell alcohol to people staying at the camping ground.
There’s a good restaurant on site at the Wilderness Village if you want a break from cooking. They also have a bar if you just want a drink, and make a decent coffee in the mornings.
The Village is located just outside the national park, about 5 minutes walk from the visitor centre where you get the bus into the park. You could leave your car behind and walk to the shuttle, but beware, the village is spread out over a huge site and up a hill, so, after a long day’s walk you might appreciate having taken your car down to the free parking at the visitor centre.
Wi-Fi is only available in the main building, and is very slow, and you will only get 3G reception if you are with Telstra.
We found the rooms to be clean, warm, very well set up, and the staff at the front desk superb.
A much better option than the more expensive lodge, provided you’re happy to walk, drive or take the shuttle.

I’m not sure if the restaurant caters for this so best to contact them directly. In saying that our unit had a kitchenette so we were able to supply and cook our own

Yes they are. Cottages also have full kitchen facilities but buy food before you get to Cradle Mountain as it's quite expensive there. Plenty of good restaurants though.
