We stayed at Green Gables B & B for two nights. Our accommodation was so warm and cosy. The hosts Beate and Paul have put so much thought into the decor of this place. We felt like there was so many extras in comparison to a regular motel. Our bed was comfortable and the bedding was tasteful. Beate delivered her homemade cakes to our room each afternoon. Breakfast was great with a choice of cereals in the room, plenty of milk and orange juice in the fridge along with bread, eggs ham and cheese included for breakfast. A wonderful experience and we have passed on to our friends and family and will happily stay again when next down the south of Hobart.

We arrived late in the evening because our flight from Melbourne was delayed. Beate and Paul stayed up and greeted us, despite the late hour and the fact that Beate was flying out early the next day herself. Their hospitality was wonderful and is only exceeded by the beauty of the B & B and the area. The fridge was stocked with necessities and more and the home made cake was there, awaiting us. The place is even more beautiful than the photos on the website and it seems to have had some renovations since their website photos were taken. We loved meeting their 2 dogs, one more friendly than the other, and we look forward to returning, possibly with friends next time. We couldn't have asked for a nicer short stay.

Thank you for taking the time for writing such a lovely review. It is very satisfying and encouraging for us to hear that our guests feel welcome and comfortable, especially when flights don't arrive in time. We look forward to welcoming you in the future. All the very Best Beate, Paul, Baxter(the friendlier dog) and Seppel (the more timid) :-)

The hosts were friendly and helpful at this lovely B&B. What a pleasure to get some fresh cakes served on arrival although we are not totally into self catering breakfasts that was fine as we really only wanted basics but there were plenty of supplies for a full breakfast is wanted. Comfy beds and spacious suite with kitchenette. The stay was excellent and is located with a view of the garden and waterways opposite.

Green Gables is a real find. I've tried many places since my daughter and her husband moved to the Huon Valley, visiting often for long, long weekends, and I've now found my home away from home. This is a very special place run by very special people. The garden view room is beautiful, immaculately clean and utterly welcoming! The bed, pillows and linen are luxurious and provide for the most wonderful sleep experience I've ever had. Beate and Paul are generous and genuinely caring............as I said, a special place. Just had my second stay there, and I won't be going anywhere else.

All you could wish for in a B and B. We stayed in the water view apartment. Private entrance, delightful sitting room, well appointed bathroom and pretty bedroom with very, very comfortable king bed. Plenty of magazines and DVDs which we didn't use as the weather was perfect during our stay. Hosts friendly and helpful, especially when my husband needed a dentist. Especially loved the new laid eggs and homemade raspberry and sour cherry jams.
