My wife and I stayed here for two nights at the end of our 12-day self-drive tour of Tasmania and it was the relaxing end we needed to a busy trip. The husband and wife team quickly met us and provided us with lots of information about the town and surrounds. They are very friendly and welcoming. The B&B has...

New Norfolk makes a good base for activities from Hobart to Russell Falls, with a head start on the drive to the West Coast if that's your next stop. It's not a large town, so the style of accommodation is different to Hobart. Explorer's Lodge makes a good option. Travelling as a family, we got the two bedroom flat, and...

Great B&B just half an hour drive from Hobart. I had dinner in Hobart before checking into Explorers Lodge. Host Liz was very helpful. Great breakfast as well. Internet connection was great too. It's also near the MONA. Parking is not an issue.

We spent a night at the Explorers Lodge after a visit to MONA. Had a lovely evening walk by the Derwent River and after a comfortable night, the continental breakfast (included in price) was a delight. Liz was a very informative host and we felt that we let her down by not staying longer in the area (Tasmania has too...

We enjoyed our overnight stay and breakfast very much. The rooms and beds were comfortable, clean, warm and styled accordingly. The ensuite was roomy enough. The bedroom and ensuite overlooked the lovely gardens. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here a couple of months ago. So welcoming and what a beautiful place to stay. The homemade bread was a definite hit and so yummy!! The garden is superb and seeing the leaves all over the ground reminded me it was Autumn. A short walk into New Norfolk and you can easily stroll around the town. Very happy and...

A charming place to stay indeed. Wonderful and helpful hosts Liz and Nigel made the "winding down after a month in Tasmania and about to go home to Queensland" a very pleasant couple of days. Made use of the large lounge area and the charming sunroom during our stay. Great balcony off our room and good weather gave us a...

Thank you very much for your complimentary review. We are pleased that you appreciated the various facilities we have in the Bed and Breakfast section. Great that your stay with us helped you to unwind after your month-long tour of Tasmania. The staircase is of regular size. Guests with heavier bags always have Nigel there to help. Its nice to...

We stayed for one night, the room was clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast is available in the morning. Not too far from the centre of town, its worth taking a walk to check out the river around sunset.

Spent a couple of nights in New Norfolk at the Explorers Lodge. The owners were fantastic and obviously enjoy what they do. They made us feel very welcome and the breakfast was great too. We don't normally stay B&B but this experience may convince us to try it more often. Our room had a balcony & ensuite bathroom & was...

My family stayed at Explorers Lodge for 1 night as a stopover between Cradle mountain and Mt Field national park. We had the self contained unit with 2 bedrooms. I normally stay in 4-5 star hotels. Therefore I was very reluctant to stay at a B & B. As there isn't any luxury hotel available at the time that I...
