A charming place to stay indeed. Wonderful and helpful hosts Liz and Nigel made the "winding down after a month in Tasmania and about to go home to Queensland" a very pleasant couple of days. Made use of the large lounge area and the charming sunroom during our stay. Great balcony off our room and good weather gave us a...

Thank you very much for your complimentary review. We are pleased that you appreciated the various facilities we have in the Bed and Breakfast section. Great that your stay with us helped you to unwind after your month-long tour of Tasmania. The staircase is of regular size. Guests with heavier bags always have Nigel there to help. Its nice to...

We stayed for one night, the room was clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast is available in the morning. Not too far from the centre of town, its worth taking a walk to check out the river around sunset.

Spent a couple of nights in New Norfolk at the Explorers Lodge. The owners were fantastic and obviously enjoy what they do. They made us feel very welcome and the breakfast was great too. We don't normally stay B&B but this experience may convince us to try it more often. Our room had a balcony & ensuite bathroom & was...

My family stayed at Explorers Lodge for 1 night as a stopover between Cradle mountain and Mt Field national park. We had the self contained unit with 2 bedrooms. I normally stay in 4-5 star hotels. Therefore I was very reluctant to stay at a B & B. As there isn't any luxury hotel available at the time that I...

Many thanks for your kind review. We are pleased that your Mother liked the fast WIFI as we have recently upgraded it. Thank you for pointing out the positive as well as the negatives in the unit. We try to upgrade different rooms each year. It all takes time of course! Thank you also for uploading two pictures of the...

With wonderful friendly hosts it is easy to feel at ease in this lovely home. The room available to disabled guests has a very accessible bathroom which was a treat after coping in some other places. Nigel and Liz couldn't have been more helpful with advice and recommendations on what to do. You are not confined to your room as...

Thank you for reviewing the Lodge and especially for pointing out the advantages of the disabled room. We enjoyed meeting you and discussing amongst other things the endemic birds! I do hope we meet up again sometime.

Stayed here on a Saturday and Sunday night on the way back to Hobart at the end of my trip in Tasmania. Very welcoming and friendly hosts. The room was comfortable and had a fabulous view. Breakfast there was fresh fruits sliced , yogurt , homemade bread and jams and a selection of cereals. Parking on site. There is a...

This will have been the 8th year I've stayed at Explorer's Lodge, so Liz and Nigel are friends now! This trip I needed a 1-night stop-over to and from a 3-night stay in Tarraleah, and asked for Unit 1 on the ground floor for convenience. I have stayed in every one of the rooms over the years, as well as...

As weary travellers we had a welcoming and friendly introduction from the hostess. There is plenty of space for relaxation - you are not confined to a bedroom as the lounge and sunroom are available for guests - not to mention a large garden for warmer days. We took great delight in getting to know the hosts Nigel and Liz...

My 14 year old son and I stayed here for a few nights in April. We loved the place and found the hosts very friendly and helpful. The house was gorgeous and the beds comfortable. Delicious breakfast too with homemade jam and bread. Great location in a picturesque town. Will definitely be back!
