Let's start with the few minuses of the Port Arthur Motor Inn and get them out of the way because this is basically a good news story. The rooms are on the small side, with no views and they haven't been updated in some time. And there was no hot breakfast option. Now the pluses. It's clean, tidy, well maintained,...

The rooms are OK although somewhat dated. The bed was also OK and the place reasonably clean. We only stayed one night so we had no problem with the presentation. A self serve breakfast was included in the tarrif which was also OK but not great. We also ate dinner in the restaurant which offered predictable meals and average wines...

The location of this hotel was perfect as it literally looks over the Port Arthur Historic Site. They have access to the Historic Site with a key through a back gate. The hotel is getting a little tired and could do with some renovation as it's a little dated. The breakfast was limited and disappointing.

We chose to stay at the Port Arthur Motor Inn due to its convenient location and ease of access to the Port Arthur Historic site. We stayed for 2 nights as part of the Tasman Peninsula Experience package in the Officer Row rooms which are listed as 3.5 star room. The rooms accurately reflect their rating. Rooms are dated but...

This motel is very handy to Port Arthur Historic Site. The motel has seen better days but it's rooms are clean and the bed comfortable. The staff were helpful and gave good advice. One downfall is the small parking areas outside the rooms. I would recommend this motel for an overnight stop to ad void the long drive back to...

The location is the advantage, as the inn is located adjacent to the historic site. You can walk to the site via a gate (your room key works), so that's great. Head to the visitor centre, or bring your pass. Other than the location, this is just a motel, nothing fancy. Rooms are clean but no frills. Washrooms a little...

The room was very small but it was offset by the fact that it sits right next to the historic prison grounds, so you can walk to them. No internet service, though they said there was. There is a restaurant in the place, and the service was good, though the rib-eye steak was more like a roast. The lamb korma...

In need of good revamp! Service was average at best - not at all welcoming. I sometimes wonder if staff really want these jobs? Room average. Such a great spot (direct walking entry to Port Arthur) they could do so much more!

For a booking of 23 rooms, they were most helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The location to the penal colony of Port Arthur is great, a short walk down the hill and you are there. The rooms were good, maybe a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.
