We came here pretty late at night after our other accommodation fell through (no-one was there when we arrived) and were very glad by what we received. The staff were friendly and helpful, and although the room was very plain and basic, it was clean enough and the atmosphere was nice and friendly. Breakfast the next morning was a slight... More

It's a while since we were there (last summer), but I've been meaning to write this. We stayed in a self contained 3 bedroom house, once a miners house. It was clean, well kept and we were left to ourselves as we wished. We were lucky to get glorious west coast weather, and enjoyed our weekend. The house came with... More

There are blacked out windows in the 400 rooms, presumably to allow shift workers... More

Although it caters to the miners and everyone usually uses them just to sleep, we are still paying good money and should not be given a dump to stay in. More so that other than being such an isolating, lonely, constantly... More

Hi Bessy D, i am unsure as to where you stayed as your name does not appear on our guest list anywhere. However - none of our rooms are mouldy - but as we are in the middle of a rain forest and it does constantly rain here and as a result the atmosphere does have a damp feel about... More

This is cheap accommodation and seems to cater mostly for single workers at the nearby mine, At 6an they all get up and go to work. It took me back to my youth of staying in similar accommodation. It will not be for everyone but it is cheap and it will be an experience of an accommodation style that I... More
