Clean and roomy with units in great position for sunsets on the river and beach. Good rooms for self catering. Positioned closer to Bay of Fires (45min) and Freycinet, Wine Glass Bay (80min). Be aware internet is almost non existent but this is a problem anywhere in this coastal area not just at Pelican Sands - did notice an NBN...

Stayed for one night on a trip around Tasmania. Reserved a two bedroom unit as all one bedrooms were all booked. Expected a nice place with its waterfront location and the reality was better than we expected - the nicest motel/hotel we stayed in our time in Tasmania. Meal at the Bistro was excellent. We needed to have a good...

When we arrived I thought, it's near a road its might be noisy but I was so pleasantly surprised, you couldn't even hear the road from inside the room. It was beautiful and quiet. Sitting on the back deck looking over the water with pelicans and birds so peaceful and relaxing. We were able to hire the kayaks and enjoyed...

It is 6 months since we last visited Pelican Sands, and it was lovely... since then there have been some simple upgrades to the accomadation that has improved it even more. The room we had, was the 2 bedroom, waterfront unit (same as before). The upgrades include, new Television, with excellent reception, new Couches, very comfortable, added furniture on the...

We stayed there with our two children for two nights and could have stayed longer. We went for a walk on the beach during low tide and our two year old daughter enjoyed running around the grass while we sat on the balcony. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed was comfortable, there was enough room for everyone and we...

We stayed one night on our tour around tassie.. this was a pleasant stay the room was neat and clean but some things were in need of attention. The shower had loose grate and the wardrobe was old and didn't seem to fit with the updated rest of the room. But I would stay again and recommend it to others...

We stayed here one night and could have stayed longer. We stayed on a Monday night and the adjoining Restaurant was closed this turned out to be a blessing. Went to the local general store which is FANTASTIC and sells everything , bought a couple of local steaks and had a BBQ and a beer on the back patio. The...

My mum, three year old daughter and myself stayed here on our 5th night of a week long east coast drive of Tasmania. The hotel was easy to find off the main road into town. The driveway down to reception and the rooms is steep and not ideal for lowered cars though. The women on reception was very helpful in...

Just back from a beautiful and relaxing break at Pelican Sands, Scamander. Can highly recommend this accomadation. We had a two bedroom unit and it was spacious and very well appointed. A fully equipped kitchen made life so much easier to look after ourselves. Beds very comfortable and was well supplied with extra blankets/pillows etc. Bathroom was excellent and towels...
