Stayed for 1 night in the Sandpiper unit. Comments relevant to this unit style. The location is very quiet with views of the water and access to the beach for walks. Individually designed units well spaced from each other. Inside the cabin was self contained with a basic kitchenette and cooking utensils. there was a heater that wormed the place...

My wife and I stayed two nights in the Sandpiper cabin. Nice and clean, the heater kept us warm in the cold weather we had. Right next to the beach and 5min from Stanley. Would be happy to stay again.

Peaceful, relaxing, private and warm and comfortable. Jeanette made us feel very welcomed and we could not fault our accommodation it was perfect. Only negative is that our stay wasn't long enough. We hope to return soon.

Hi Tammy S, Thank you for your wonderful comments. It is lovely to have appreciative guests. We try very hard to please everyone who stays here, but sometimes this is not easy. We are looking forward to your next visit. Best wishes Janette.

Fantastic quirky cottages with private beach frontage. We stayed for two nights in Sand Piper cottage, an interesting architecualy designed building. Most of the cottages are different and separated sufficiently to give your own privacy. Friendly and hospitable hosts although they have sold up and are moving on. The only negative thing if you could call it that was the...

My wife and I enjoyed a 2 night stay in the Oystercatcher lodge. We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts who went above and beyond to assist with arrangements for a teleconference on our arrival. Once all thoughts of work were behind us we had a very comfortable stay in the lodge and enjoyed some long walks...

Hi malcolmporra, Thank you for your review. We were pleased to be of assistance for the teleconference and hope the results were fruitful. Glad you enjoyed your long beach walks and your exploration of Stanley. All the lodges are in secluded, natural settings, giving complete privacy to everyone. They are warm and comfortable, at any time of year and well...

We stayed for three nights in late March 2016. I don't want to be at odds with other reviewers, but I feel I should give my honest opinion on our stay. The property is secluded, but the big round window (with no curtains) faces the secluded unit next door. I'm not sure seclusion is a selling point, considering most activity...

To the readers of the above review, I wish to put the record straight. The ‘big round window’ does not face the unit 'next door’, which is about 45 metres away, but looks into native vegetation which was planted 16 years ago between the cabins for privacy, and there are no windows from any cabin, which face each other. There...

We stayed for 3 days in April 2016 in the Oystercatcher beach house. This house is very well equipped and comfortable adjacent to the beach. The other beach houses further away from the homestead were more exposed to the wind but seemed to be better for seeing the animals at night. The owners, Chris and Janette were unfailingly helpful.

Hi dhongkong, Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Oystercatcher beach house, overlooking the ocean. There is an abundance of wildlife around at night, especially at Oystercatcher, as evident by the number of nibbled shrubs, which we have great difficulty in growing. It is also the most sheltered, as you observed, from the...

Secluded atmosphere and gracious humble hosts who share this special place wiht guests - their home and working farm. The purpose built guest lodges are unique in their use of Tasmanian specialty timbers - as Tasmanians, we very much appreciated the care and respectful use of those materials to provide a unique "retreat". Should you choose to settle and tuck...

Hi cmsoz, Thank you for your review. We love to share our special place and home with all our guests. We had a lot of input into the design and construction of the beach houses; wanting them to fit into the natural environment and to be constructed of local timbers. Three of them were built by our son, a furniture...

We loved the gentle and peaceful ambience of the ecolodge and its location. It was close to Stanley - and yet felt a long way from anywhere. Janette and Chris were very welcoming too. A lovely place for a bit of time out!

Hi HelenAus, Thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed the peacefulness and quiet location of the accommodation. WOW. WOW. WOW. These were the first words we said as we walked in the door as we took in the view. The Pelican unit we stayed in was fantastic and very interestingly built. Everything in the unit we needed. We could not fault except our stay was not long enough. Chris was excellent.

Hi Colin H, Thank you for submitting a review. We were so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Pelican beach house; our latest innovative accommodation, with the most fabulous ocean views. You probably noticed, on studying the architecture, that there is only one right angle in the construction, which kept the builder on his toes! It was Chris' turn...
