This accommodation was perfect for us. We stayed in the Pelican lodge which is hard to beat for seclusion and has a lovely vista over the bay. It is well appointed and was very clean with the only minor negative being the need for a couch in front of the TV rather than two relatively small chairs. We'd very happily...

Hi DavidH, Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you found the accommodation, Pelican, perfect for your group of three. The couch provided was in use, as a day bed, for the the third member of your party, which was your preference, as against staying in the spacious 3 B/R Lodge. Perhaps see you again, one day, for...

The location of the retreat is superb, on the water and you can watch the tide go in and out on the inlet and when tide is out, collect oysters. The accommodation is not flashy but it has a warmth about it, (and it's spacious) and quiet, we stayed in the Sea Eagle with the hot tub, the views were...

Hi Boundtoramble, Thank you for your excellent review. Our absolute private beach frontage to high water mark, for almost 2 kms, is always a popular talking point with guests. Glad you appreciated gathering fresh, wild oysters from the rocks; enjoyed by many. We employed an environmental architect when designing the accommodation and all features were made in sympathy with the...

We had the perfect retreat coming to the end of our Tasmanian holiday. The accommodation was beautifully appointed and maintained, with everything we needed for some wonderful relaxation among the natural beauty, and gorgeous outlook from inside, as well as outside on the lovely deck of our cabin. Facilities were first class and we really enjoyed being able to sit...

Hi travelsafe52, Thank you for your review. So pleased you found the perfect retreat to finalize your holiday. The styling and siting of the beach houses, on the frontal dunes, were undertaken to give guests peace and privacy, whilst enjoying the magnificent water views and natural environment. Tasmania has wonderful produce, food and wine and is blessed with the cleanest...

We were made very welcomed and all facilities explained. The sunsets were amazing. There was everything you needed to make the stay a comfortable and memorable experience. It was great to open the blinds in the morning and look at the water.

Hi maggie-gs, Thank you for your review. Our location on the sea shore is indeed a beachfront paradise and situated only 3kms from the historic, fishing village of Stanley. It seems you are in another world here, away from the maddening crowd and so peaceful. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you again one day. Regards Janette.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful week at Beachside Retreat and if you want peace and quiet, this is the location for you! Walk deserted beaches, watch the changing tides, do very little, or a lot if you want to by visiting nearby attractions. Sit on the spacious deck and watch the sun set while you enjoy your evening...

A most welcome ecological destination. Quiet, peaceful and full of delightful bird life. Architecture is unique and the layout of the cabin complements its position on the edge of the inlet. Just a short drive to Stanley.

Hi DenysJ49, Thank you for your review. When planning the cabins many years ago we employed an environmental architect to put our ideas into place and 16 years later we are still getting favourable comments about the unique designs and the site. We stayed at the Beachside Retreat early January 2016 and had a wonderful time. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our accommodation - which we could not fault. The beach was clean and very enticing. We would certainly recommend this place! We also thought Stanley to be a fabulous place - great pub and seafood restaurant.

Cabins are stylish and modern, completely private and right on the bay (or west inlet as they call it). Really enjoyed exploring from here but coming home to the peace and quiet, watching the sunsets over the water then strolling the beach each morning. Bliss

Hi Chris G, Thank you for your review. Our beachfront accommodation is very contemporary, as opposed to the century-old colonial cottages in Stanley. We have designed the different style cabins to complement the environment, keeping each one out of sight of the next, thus maintaining the privacy of guests. The sunsets are absolutely breathtaking at the moment and not to...
