We went to Strahan with our hired camper van, the place was very busy and after attending the visitors centre to try and find a touring park we were put in the direction of Strahan Backpackers. They were able to accommodate us at the pack which meant we could use their facilities which although a little basic were clean and...

Me and a friend spent 1 night at the hostel. Small, nice and really good service. For us it was like finding a place like home. And the staff was really good at telling about the local history and atractions.

This is very basic - it's a backpackers. . . We were warm and comfortable and had share kitchen and bathroom The room was small with bunk beds and clean. Had to pay for towels. . I wouldn't really recommend it for a long stay (unless you were only going to be sleeping there). Strahan looked interesting though, unfortunately, we...

I had a little single room, but the bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. I slept very well, and that's most important I feel. The hostel was clean, and comfy. Would definitely stay there again!

Quite clean room, cold after sunset but they have warmer in the room so it's fine. Have free wifi, that is good, but no signal in my room so can only use it at kitchen. Bathroom also clean, if can have few more will be better. They get a river at the backyard can see platypus if you lucky.

Very enjoyable place to stay. We booked a room on very little notice during the busy season in tassie with no problems. Facilities were very clean (kitchen, toilet, rooms) which can be tough to find in hostels. Great location couple hours from cradle mountain and right next to the water. They had river cruises which seemed cool but was raining...

I stayed here for two nights while doing a tour of Tasmania, and it provided a great base. The rooms were clean and warm, while the shower areas were spacious and satisfactory. It has a great sized common area, great for our tour group to eat together and play card games in. They also had a wee platypus viewing area...

I was in a twin dorm (that I fortunately had to myself), and very much enjoyed my stay. Considering there were only two or three staff, the rooms and facilities were well maintained, with a well appointed kitchen and ample restrooms. Only complaint is that the WiFi is not free and has very limited coverage.

Amazing welcoming, really nice friendly people! Great atmosphere, people from all around, different experiences and different stories all around. Peaceful, relaxing, great to stop and have a nice warm bed, showers, meals.. Prices are very good AND if you wake up early you can have a look at the platypus in the creek!

Stayed here two nights as part of my Under Down Under tour package - it's a great backpackers hostel, showers, although outside, were great. Good kitchen facilities and bbqs, host is very nice. I slept in a girls dorm, beds were new and comfortable, there was a heater in the room, and plenty of blankets so it was never cold.
