25 years ago we stayed at the Franklin Manor during our honeymoon around Tasmania. 25 years later, it was still charming and a delight. Changes had occurred, cooked breakfast and dinner weren't available and since our honeymoon the spa rooms have reduced their spas from huge corner size to standard size, however the staff was lovely, very helpful and available...

Our experience at this property was excellent. Great breakfast, comfortable rooms and beds, excellent customer service and super location. The only complaint was poor wi-fi, unfortunately it's a necessary evil so although we would have liked to not have needed it - we did.

We arrived after 6pm and did not realise that we had to inform the reception. Thankfully, the staff had left the keys at the door so we could let ourselves in. The hotel was very beautiful. As we stayed in December, there were Christmas decorations which made the first floor of the hotel very cosy. There were no lifts so...

Don't know whether we punished for cancelling one of our nights at this hotel, but we were given a rather odd room just behind the reception desk where we could hear everything that went on. The hotel had definitely seen better days and seemed to date from the late 50s in the way it was operated - definitely a guest...

Stayed for two nights at this hotel which was somewhat dated and frumpy. They don't do cooked breakfasts as the kitchen no longer operates.the bedrooms are comfortable and cosy ie electric blankets which we needed as the weather was wet and cold. The overall view is that it needs a fortune spending on it if it is going to survive....

We booked two nights at Franklin Manor as we had stayed there 30 years ago on a previous trip. On arrival we were disappointed to hear that dinner was no longer available as it was years ago. Despite that, Franklin Manor has undergone extensive restoration and the new manager, and her receptionist, were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly as my...

We had a very comfortable stay in a nice room with a comfortable bed and plenty of space. The B and B is spacious with large comfortable reception rooms and a large breakfast room. Continental breakfast has plentiful cereal, bread, juice and fruit - no cheese, ham or eggs available. The garden is pleasant with colourful rhododendrons and sitting areas...

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Franklin Manor. The room was lovely along with the two lounge rooms and dining room surrounded by beautiful gardens. Really enjoyed our continental breakfast which consisted of an array of cereals, fresh fruit, bread for toasting, various spreads, juices, fruit salad, and a great selection of teas and of course percolated coffee....

If you're after modern rooms and super fast internet this is not the place to stay. However if you're looking for a comfortable bed and continental breakfast this fits the bill. We spent 2 nights here. I can only comment on our room, room 11. It is located downstairs near reception. The room was dual aspect, one window was almost...

The Franklin manor has a lot of character. Surprisingly it has 14 rooms although you don't feel it. Each room is unique and is accessed with a skeleton key. Each room is outfitted with antiquy furniture appropriate to the ambience they're going for. When booking a room, request one in the back. It was nice & quiet. We didn't hear...
