On arrival a first impression was of a tired utilitarian hotel with a washed out distressed exterior. But looks can be deceiving. We were given a warm welcome in a beautifully appointed reception area where local artists and craftsmen display their works. The staff were all very friendly and hard working and haven eaten in the restaurant for both evenings...

I had stayed at Risby Cove 12 years ago and it was certainly in a much better condition then to what it is now. The location in the cove about 8 minutes walk from Strahan is nice but the rooms have become quite dated and the entire site needs a freshen up - some repairs, painting and general maintenance is...

We only stayed overnight, but staff were friendly, room was great and the position, just metres from the water, was excellent. Close enough to town and attractions to walk. A little pricey, but worth every cent.

Service was slow, waitresses and waiter were clumsy. We had to wait over 20 minutes before we were asked if we wanted a drink and then still had to wait 10 minutes before they came, one of witch was the wrong one. I cannot fault the meals, great presentation and tasted beautiful. All in all, service was the big let...

Stayed upstairs in Beach room for 2 nights. No aircon, understandable here, but screen-door lock missing so no chance to leave main door open for cool breeze. Tap drips in bathroom, shower wand socket broken. Feels like a maintenance person has never been near the place. Bathroom has basin on one wall but mirror and light on opposite wall so...

Restaurant was very good, but accomodation needs maintenance. Non functioning lights, water leaks, noisy neighbouring unit (above). Very average bathroom (shower curtain...) and bed. Manager tres blasé.

With beautiful buildings and surrounds, this should be an excellent restaurant. Sadly, disappointingly, it isn't. The service is in slow motion, as in 15 to 20 minutes for drink service, and not owing to lack of people, just a very casual attitude. Also, despite the menu and promo stating "fresh seafood"(and its a fishing port, trawlers, the lot) the fish...

Had a lovely view from our upstairs apartment overlooking the water. The accommodation is simple and rustic, it suited us for our two night stay. We had dinner in the restaurant the first night but didn't enjoy much so went elsewhere the next night. The main reason to stop over in Strahan was to go on the Gordon River cruise...

The restaurant was recommended by a local and it was an excellent suggestion. A bit noisy as it was very popular but the food was good, well-presented and the service was friendly and speedy! A great setting at sunset. We didn't stay at the hotel so we can't say anything more than the location and the parking are very good.
