Stayed in one of the cute/rustic cabins. Kids loved swimming in the pool and fishing off the pier! No Wifi, but it was nice to unplug and relax by the campfire. New owners were nice and friendly. will visit again soon.

I have stayed at the cabin twice this summer with my family. My second visit I also invited my sister and her family to rent a cabin so we had a total of 2 cabins. The new owners were friendly, polite and provided immediate assistance when we had questions. WE didn't need any help with regards to the cabins because they were excellent overall. They were very clean, comfortable and my kids slept very soundly! The kitchen was equip with all we needed to grill and make our breakfasts. Each cabin also had its own grill. The also provided movies to watch for the kids on the dvd player for late night. The place was also very festive with boaters stopping in to visit the cute and clean beachfront. WE night fished off of the dock and even caught a few catfish! The pool was clean and very deep so we had a great time lounging poolside. In the end, if you are looking for a great time in Marblehead look no further! I highly recommend.

We used to stay here all the time when we went to Marblehead. As you can see from an earlier review of mine, you could stay overnight and the price was low. Again, this is not the Ritz, but it was always clean and Myra, the owner was terrific. Now you have a mandatory two night stay, and the price increased by a third - with no improvements for your expanding dollar. If we wanted to stay only one night, the nightly price increased by 50%. Forget this place. The Lake Point is around the corner, and unless you really need the pool, stay there. The Surf is also a good option. These people should go to a hospitality school before they lose their business.

This “motel” used to be called Taylor’s Resort and a great family operated this property. The property was bought in late 2016 by a new family because the original owners passed away, and it is now called Easy Wind Inn. Unfortunately, the new owners do not care about their customers and have a very poor attitude. I visited Taylor’s Resort/Easy Wind Inn for the past 8 years when traveling for my annual vacation to Johnson’s Island. For the last 7 years, I have had zero problems. Unfortunately, this year (2017) was a miserable experience. The daily “motel” rate increased from $85 to $100 a night. I was fine with this since the location is so convenient to Johnson’s Island. There is no check in/out desk so the week before I arrived, I asked what the wifi password is. The owner Amy sent a rude email saying that their guests prefer to be outside and creating memories with other people. For my entire stay, I was unable to establish a stable connection to the wifi and had to use my cell phone for the internet. The TV’s are the old CRT tube TV’s from most likely around 1995 and are mounted at an unsafe level if you are tall. She said that they don’t plan on upgrading the electronics anytime soon even though she kept touting that they are environmentally friendly. I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to get rid of an energy robbing device… but I digress. I noticed on my 2nd day of my stay that my room was not serviced (bed not made, and no fresh towels). I e-mailed the owner again (since there is no check in/out desk) and she stated that they do not provide daily service. She said that they prefer guests re-use towels because they want to be friendly to the environment. I have never heard of a hotel/motel not providing daily service to your room. All I wanted was my bed made and fresh towels. The owner sent another rude email saying that in the future I should stay at other motels as they are more upscale. The room had spiders and spider webs in the bathroom window. The door to the room I was staying in latched shut, but didn’t completely close. The owners stipulate that if you leave your heating/air conditioning on during the day and never return to your room during the day, they can charge your credit card. I prefer to leave the AC on during the summer so that after a long hot day, I can return to a cool room. If you prefer a 5 unit “motel” with no stable wifi, no daily service, rude management, and don’t mind paying $100 a night for the privilege of sleeping in their room, then this is the place for you. I have never been to a property where daily room service was not provided. I will never stay at this “motel” again because the owners are rude and claim to be environmentally friendly to excuse doing any work to generate maximum profit.

Three of us stayed in a cottage and we were very comfortable. The coverage was spotless and the kitchen/dinning room area was cute in "retro" way. The bathroom had been recently renovated (all tile) and the screened in porch was awesome. Bed linens supplied - bring your own towels.

Taylor's is a semi-rustic vacation spot that allows you to truly enjoy the outside without giving up modern amenities. There are 8 cottages, each with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom, a screened porch, tv, and air conditioning. There is also a small motel with 5 rooms. There are docks for boats and fishing, a pool, a game room, fire pits, a swing set, and outdoor games such as badminton, volleyball, and horseshoes. Myra, the owner and host, is super kind and very accommodating. We had a 50th wedding anniversary party there, with family coming from all over the US. Myra was patient and helped us with booking, including all of the changes that went with our crazy family!

We are always looking for a place to stay on Lake Erie with a swimming pool, as the lake is no longer safe to swim in. We enjoyed Taylor's Resort and Myra was very nice and easy to make plans with. There were 5 adults and a child in our group and we had planned to all stay in the cottage, but at the last minute I booked one of the motel units as well and so glad that we did. The cottage is small and the sixth person would have been on a futon in the kitchen. With two of us in the motel at night, four were very comfortable in the two bedrooms. As stated in an earlier review, the cottages and motel units are kitschy and low budget. That being said the cleanliness was excellent in both units. We have stayed in some dirty places and this was not the case at all. Even the pots and pans and dishes were all nice and clean. In the motel unit the bath towels were the roughest I've ever experienced - kind of like sandpaper and pretty thin. The cottage supplies no towels and there are sheets for the beds packed in pillow cases when you arrive. We could only use the pool one afternoon because of the extraordinary rain, but it was quite nice. The pier is nice and we enjoyed the large benches.

Thanks to careful research and planning, my family's stay at Taylor's Resort on the bay was a memorable one. Our cottage was booked six weeks in advance for the 4th and was pretty much everything we expected, from a spacious kitchen with full mod cons to two bedrooms with a cozy set of bunks, single bed, and full queen, plus a sofa/futon in the living room/kitchen area. There was also a nice breezeway, ample-sized bathroom with vintage pine interior (and high-pressurized shower with vintage blue tile) and storage closet. The whole interior of our cabin had a vintage feel, with pinewood paneling all around and sliding glass windows overlooking the grove of trees and golden field that was our back yard. Our cabin was at the end of the lot (of seven) and, with the front door and windows completely shut, offered private seclusion from the rental property next door, which was separated from ours by a low, wire-mesh fence and buzzed with activity from dawn 'til dusk. The bay was just a quick walk down to the pier, which jutted out across an inlet and provided a beautiful view of Lake Erie and Cedar Point beyond. There was a boat ramp and dock for jet skis, along with a small, sandy wading area. The "beach" was not especially inviting and the water contained several snakes and mallards. The swimming pool on the opposite end of the property was ancient and water filthy on the first of the month. As for the "recreation room", it was really nothing more than a storage shed, with stacks of lumber, poor lighting, and a foosball table that was not much fun to play (due to busted players that were either strung together or broken in half). The rec room did have a couple of sofas and wall-mounted TV along with a washer and dryer and perhaps a fridge for storing fish, but reeked of stale old paint and, like the swimming pool and the wading beach, was also not very inviting. There was also a basketball hoop outside of the rental office that was missing a net when we first arrived, but was later fitted with a new one. However, the rim was not regulation height and angled downward and, much like the foosball table, not a whole lot of fun to play. What I liked best about this place was the atmosphere of being in the woods, middle-class clientele, and the personal attention that we received from the owner-Myra-from the moment that we arrived. She was more than happy to honor an online coupon we brought with us and tended to our every need. When she learned that the DVD player in our cabin was missing, she went out and bought a brand new one (which was fantastic since I had brought National Lampoon's Vacation along). The TV was an old 19” RCA with a CRT and standard cable service including AMC, TCM, TNT, ESPN, and VH1. Free wireless fidelity internet was also available for those with a mobile device, although the Wi-Fi network tended to jam-up fast with the number of online guests and therefore ran slow or not at all (and therefore I suggest bringing a mobile broadband cellular modem for backup). While clean bed linens and pillows for all four beds were provided, the fitted blankets over the mattresses were dirty with traces of hair. There was a shortage of electrical outlets in the living room/kitchen area and everything including the TV/DVD, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, lamp, was plugged into one central hub. The outlet above the electric range (stove) was falling off the wall and needed reattached. The coffeemaker was filthy and I had to clean it before I could use it. The kitchenette was well-stocked with (clean) plates, bowls, cups, and silverware. We enjoyed most of our meals at the kitchen table in front of the TV, and took full advantage of the fridge/freezer, electric range, and oven. We also made use of the charcoal grill outside a couple of times; we ate out once at the Bayshore Country Market & Pizzeria up the road. Also nearby was Johnson's Island, Marblehead Lighthouse State Park, Lake Point Park, and Meadowbrook Marsh, all of which we visited over the course of four days and three nights. The highlight of our stay was the fireworks over Bay Point Marina on the eve of our nation’s independence, which we were able to take in from the boat dock/pier of Taylor’s Resort.

Loved staying at this resort. It has everything. A Swimming Pool fenced in, a small motel, laundry room, Rental cabins, and a private boat ramp and dock. I believe they also had a game room. Awesome place for anyone. The owner Myra lives on site. Close to the Marblehead Lighthouse, Ferry, restaurants, shops, and The historic Johnsons Island. Linens provided. Microwaves, coffee pot, bed, couch, table, Ac. Love this place, have stayed here 3 times. Would love to visit again. Great rates.

I have stayed all over the Marblehead area and this is a kitschy, clean place. It has a cute, funky kitchen, 2 bedrooms and an exceptionally small bathroom. However, it has a great screened in porch, a personal grill and picnic table, and a fabulous view of the bay. If you have more than one family and are staying for a weekend or longer, I highly recommend renting a couple of these cabins and having a ball. Go grocery shopping so you can take advantage of the microwave, fridge, coffeemaker and stove - and the grill, of course. There is a pool, a playground, a fire pit, and a boat ramp. Go sit and reflect on the benches by the water. It was much cleaner than I anticipated. The only downside was the microscopically small shower and the water pressure. But it got the job done. It is easy access to all the fun things there are to be in the area. Go have fun! And....I thought the owner was a sweetie.
