My goal is to be accurate so that you are advised of what this cabin is all about. The first thing we noticed upon walking in was the odor of what seemed like cigarette smoke mixed with mildew. It was not something you could get used to. It demanded open windows to reduce it to toloerable levels. We slept with many windows open to reduce this pungent smell. I did wonder what was causing it, and it appears the source of the mildew was wet floors in the bath area, as they were buckled really badly, to the point I was cautious of where I stepped just outside the shower. The floor structure is in need of major improvement. The carpet is in really poor shape overall, and simply awful in the bathroom area. The kitchen area wall paper was really yellowed and many kitchen utensils were gummy with what appeared to be be greese. The unit needed cleaned very badly, examples, really dusty and the bathroom vent had dust caked on it and had not been cleaned for an extended time.

On the bright side, I do note the bed cloths and towels seemed freshly laundred. There were absolutly no signs of any insects or pests anywhere. The hot tub was nice and seemed propperly chorinated. The unit has really ample space and was equipped with a nice fire place and extras in the kitchen area. The tap water was clean with no detectable odor / color. The unit sits on a very pretty lot with really tall pine trees and dense woods. The owner / manager was very nice to us in evey way and seems a nice fellow. We did not address any issues with him as there was no real way to address them in any time permissive way. There was a nice HDTV and DVD player in the livingroom.

Summary: An old facility with serious clenliness issues and some structural concerns on a nice lot managed (owned?) by a nice fellow. The photos on the web page are misleading so I assume that is why they are so small and lack detail. So that you wil be advised...

We stayed at this location last week. We stayed in the log cabin. It was a great location if you want secluded and quiet (which we did). The cabin itself was nice and comfortable and our kids enjoyed the hottub outside (which was nice and clean). The rooms were decent size and it offered directTV. It was close to loudonville, wally road, and many attractions. It was stocked with many items and we enjoyed the infrared grill which cooked food quickly and evenly. My only two complaints were the towels smelled terribly like stale smoke so we went to dollar general and bought our own. The cabin itself didnt smell strongly of smoke but maybe they wash the towels in a house where they smoke? The bedroom carpet could use a good steam cleaning as well. But overall it was a great place to stay and we would stay there again! On a side note the driveway is very steep (as many are in that location) so it is best suited for a 4 wheel drive or a car with a little oomph!

We stayed in the cabin, outside of needing four wheel drive to get up the hill we liked the cabin very much. Do bring some of your own untensils or grill set. With people coming in out of there things get lost or stolen. The jacuzzi was out on pad was cold walk in winter but felt so good. I do feel 150$ is steep in middle of winter in there off season but was nice getaway from cleveland.

This is my opinion and vacation experience. You make your own choices. I’ve listed a pro and con for ‘Cedar Cottage’.
This shouldn’t be called a cottage or a cabin. It is an abused doublewide trailer.
CON for me: Air broken on hot tub making it useless. 2. Floor soft in spots. 3. Holes in walls, broken or missing seam covers on walls exposing nails. 4. Soot on walls, ground into carpet and ceiling.
5. Filthy sticky blinds some are broken. 6. Broken window glass with broken screens (no fresh air unless you enjoy bugs in the trailer). 7. Bed felt like a double not a queen. 8. One electric fire alarm. 9. Peeling wall paper and cracked linoleum. 10. Smells really bad.
PRO for me: 1. Clean sheets and towels. 2. Dishwasher and soap. 3. Has some dishes.4. Full size refrigerator with ice cube tray. 5 . Big TV with movie channels. 6. Provides salt & pepper. 7.Master bedroom has a new floor and working whirlpool tub. 8. Easy driveway (the others are not easy) 9. Fire extinguisher by fireplace. 10. Outside fire ring.

i cannot begin to get into details about our stay as i will become sad. so, in an effort to save time and emotion, i completely agree with everything that was said in the last review:

The rustic chalet was so nice & cozy. We felt very comfortable & relaxed while staying there. It was our dogs first vacation & she loved it! Felt like home away from home. The views were just amazing. We can't wait to go back in a couple of months & stay a little longer. The only problem we encountered was that we had to leave so soon!! We saw wild turkeys out in the back yard too. And the lights inside are so pretty. The bed was very comfortable & the jacuzzi tub so relaxing! The hot tub was very nice. Definitely will make this place our getaway whenever we can!

We stayed in the rustic chalet, the only one of the three cabins that is pet-friendly. It far surpassed my expectations. It was a steep climb up to the chalet, but even after it having just rained my mid-size sedan made it up just fine. The cabin was so secluded amongst the pines that the dogs could run and explore without me having to worry about them bothering anybody. It was clean for the most part, although the hot tub jets and the freezer could have benefited from a good scrubbing. The furniture and bed were comfy and with such a quiet setting I was able to accomplish one of my goals of the weekend which was studying for a state exam. We stayed on a weeknight in November and it was only $100 + $25 for the dogs. He takes the bed tax out of that so the posted rates are what you pay. It is a short drive (minutes) to Mohican State Park, Pleasant Hill Dam, and the Loudonville Canoe Liveries, as well as downtown Loudonville. Perfect location. We will be returning soon!

We stayed the weekend at this cottage, it is a outdated modular home in need of repair. Holes in walls, floors, and doors. Carpet was nasty. The storm door had to be lifted up to close. I don't recommend the Cottage.

The cabin was very nice. They have everything you need. You just need food and personal items. The only real problem was the A/C didn't work at all. 90 degrees and no air. Not good. Thank goodness we found the fan up in the loft. Still had a good time. Please check with the owner and make sure the A/C is working properly if the weather is going to be really hot.
