The best thing about this place is it's dog friendly and the view of Lake Erie from the deck by the pool . However the pool could be cleaner, and there was no microwave in the room, but you could use the microwave in the breakfast area. Still not a bad deal for the money.
This hotel had a musty smell from the get go. Oh, and if your room is on the 2nd floor, plan on hoofing it up the stairs….no elevator. There was an uncovered hole in the bathroom wall. The tv (roku) was ridiculous- you needed to sign onto the tv…And only a few programs were free. Outside our filthy window was a used e-cigarette- ew. The pool was located right off the lake - however there were no lights (perhaps due to bugs?) However, I will admit the coffee was good.
This place was nasty. Room dirty covers in cob webs n spider not clean at all park lot same way place u rent by hour would been better I told girl front desk n nothing we left day early because of it n every place was booked.people wrk there was nice but was charged 550 two nights it not worth 100 for two night n our room was a king suite
This is the worst hotel stay I have ever experience! The beds are awful. They said they have breakfast but don’t. You would think at $250 a night they could manage breakfast. No hair dryer, microwave, or coffee. Not worth the money. You would be better off to stay anywhere but here.
Non smoking room smelled like smoke. Breakfast is advertised, but no breakfast is available. The pull out sofa was horrible with a stained mattress. No sheets, blankets or pillows available for the pull out. Attempted to request them from the front desk, but no answer. One bath towel for 3 people news provided. The hotel did nothing to correct the issue.
Honestly, all that I can say is you really need to trust me on this, DO NOT STAY HERE. The place is Dirty, dead bugs and spider webs are all in the hall way …….The positive reviews had to be from the owner's friends or family or they paid them to write one. Upon arrival, there were plenty parking spots available. Walking in, there were warning signs. Filthy trash cans throughout the hotel, smelled, incomplete maintenance repairs, less than professionally dressed receptionist (however he was very sympathetic but not helpful.. I booked a lake view room they gave me 116 a dirty room with broken toilet, dirty sheets & dead bugs on the window ledge. The next morning at 9am I ask for the manager the lady at the desk said she wound not be in until the next day but move me to a lake view room…. It had ants all over the bathroom and to look out the window was more spider webs and dead bugs DISCUSTING) I can take a lot but this place was just too nasty. Please save yourself a headache and find someplace, any other place than this one. You will definitely be sorry if you don't.…
Stayed here one night for our anniversary. It is a typical Quality Inn: not great, but not bad either. The big attraction is that it is right on the lake. Some of the rooms have lake views and at least one has a small patio looking out over the lake. There is a nice deck right overlooking the water with some chairs and tables, and a small pool which is closed right now, I assume due to covid. They usually supply a hot breakfast, but also due to covid that is replaced for now with a bag breakfast with a breakfast burrito, muffin and orange juice. Our room had king bed, a small refrigerator and a small microwave. Also included was a jacuzzi tub with a shower, which is a nice feature. We had reserved a lake view room, but when we arrived the room we were assigned had a view completely obstructed by bushes. We went back to the desk and they immediately remedied the situation with a better room with a real lake view. We were pleased with the service we received which was efficient and genuinely aiming to please. The room was clean and comfortable and the bed good. It is not a five star place by any means, but it met our needs very well, and we really enjoyed watching the sun set over the water from the deck. There are numerous restaurants nearby, and a small city park and beach just down the street.…
Saturday February 27th 2021, Tony's and I chose to go back to the same Quality Inn in Port Clinton, Ohio but we were not able to secure the same room. This room was #114 and we were NOT pleased like the night before. I did everything but bribe the desk clerk to give us a better less BASEMENT-eey feeling room. But she said it was all she had available. The door would not lock properly, the room smelled like smoke. I asked for a discount since I booked a lake view room and didn't get one. She said she didn't have authority to give discounts. Ugh!!!! I wanted to like this hotel. Same hotel, different desk clerks, different outcomes and different feelings about my stay. I was do overly happy first night and so utterly displeased and dissatisfied the second night.
Stayed here for the weekend - mostly because of the very cheap rate we could get ($48/night) and had low expectations but actually we had a great stay! Conveniently located, easy parking - stayed in king room with a couch as well! Bed was comfy, room was spacious, water pressure was ‘okay’ and puck up bagged breakfast was fine ( Jimmy Dean sandwich you could heat in the microwave in your room ( had fridge too!), 2 wrapped mini muffins and OJ. Coffee maker in room made sub-par coffee but the self-serve coffee machine by main office was good! Room was generally clean and based on the time if the year - probably 1/4 full. Couldn’t beat it for the rate and a nice little getaway as we went to Twin Oast Brewery and Firelands Winery for the first time! I would definitely stay here again!…
It’s an average, tired Quality Inn but you definitely should splurge for the Lake View rooms. The views of Lake Erie are spectacular. I believe these rooms are 200-203, with best to almost best being 203, 200, 202, and 201. We did not see 203 or 201 but based on their location and size, I believe the above to be accurate. Be warned, however, that at least in 200 and 202 you’ll need to be very comfortable with your roommate as the interesting layout with the jacuzzi means you’ll have no privacy on the toilet.
