We had our Family Reunion here this past week. And I cannot say enough good things about this place. The setting is absolutely beautiful, it is very peaceful and enjoyable. It was your perfect location for our family to focus on reconnecting and creating new memories. The owners are amazing and really go above and beyond. We thank for sharing your beautiful venue with us and making us feel so welcome, This place is literally one of a kind!❤️❤️
Off the beaten path gem. The Millsite Lodge is unique and inspiring. We stayed in a stable room. The room was spacious and immaculate. Limited side table space for personal items. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom and shower were spacious. The property was huge offering guests plenty to do. The continental breakfast was uninspiring when compared to past experiences. There were snack bars and some oatmeal. Coffee and tea was also available. I recommend this lodge when visiting the Sandusky area.
I highly recommend Millsite Lodge for a unique and peaceful place to stay. We stayed a few nights while visiting Cedar Point, and we could not have gotten a better experience anywhere else. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and serene. The buildings are exceptional. Ranae was extremely nice and accommodating. There are many activities available. Next time we visit, we will be staying here and including more time to spend on the grounds enjoying the beautiful setting. Thanks for creating such a unique place for us travelers seeking an outside of the box experience.
A wonderful stay at a peaceful, clean and beautiful location. Wonderful and helpful hosts. Games, pool table, fire pit on site. 15 mins from Sandusky downtown and 20 mins from Marblehead lighthouse. A real tucked away treasure indeed! Value for money
Our company toured Millsite Lodge in September 2020 and we loved it. The property is just a few miles from Sandusky and is perfect for a wedding, retreat, reunion, private parties, or simply a relaxing weekend with family and friends. Close to Wineries, Port Clinton, and Cedar Point. The owners truly care about you and want to make certain your stay is perfect! The Hackenberger Family is amazing.
This was our first time booking Millsite Lodge since they changed to new ownership and management. We were celebrating my mom's birthday and had such a wonderful time. The Innkeeper, Renae, did everything possible to make Mom's experience there fabulous. She accommodated us by have a delicious birthday cake and attractive balloons awaiting mom upon arrival. It was on a weekday so she was able to arrange a small celebration room for mom to eat her cake and open presents. Afterward, we got to go trout fishing in the serene brook in the backyard. You can fish for trout there or just sit and take in the scenic rural countryside under a shaded weeping willow tree on a hot day. It was so peaceful! We had the whole private fishing brook for our family. Also, while we were there we got a sneak peek at their wedding preparation for a weekend wedding. Their attention to detail and decor was meticulous and enchanting. I remember thinking if I were getting married, I would definitely book this place. It has the perfect ambiance, enchantment, and impeccable service! Many Kudos to the management/owners for making our family celebration and visit magical!…
My husband and I attended a Holiday Party at the Millsite Lodge in January - about 2+ hrs. from our Michigan home. We decided to stay the night at the Lodge. The owners bent over backwards to accommodate us! This unique property offers a beautiful rustic lodge with a huge fireplace for cozy evenings, clean rooms and a comfortable bed. In the warmer weather, this Lodge serves as a great "fishing resort". Very family oriented, great potential for weddings, family reunions, etc. Would I stay here again? Absolutely!!
I was looking for a 5 Star Bed & Breakfast Fishing Retreat or Resort where I could take my 82 year old mom as a gift in celebration of her birthday. I wanted a place that was service oriented, picturesque, family friendly (also wheelchair accessible) that included fishing. I searched long and hard because unfortunately there is not much out there that meets all the criteria I was looking for...Then I happened to stumble on Millsite Lodge Bed and Breakfast in Sandusky, Ohio. I viewed a of the lodge on Youtube. I have to say when we stayed there this past weekend for my elderly mom's birthday, the experience met our every expectation! First the ambiance is so peaceful and serene beginning with their long spruce lined driveway. Each of our rooms had a beautiful view of the countryside. It's also a haven for birds because in the morning we were pleasantly surprised to wake to a wonderful variety of birds singing and calling.. Just in the backyard of the Inn, is the trout creek which is so clear. You can see the rainbow trout swimming around. It was a bit of a push for my mom in the wheelchair but I guided her backwards and it was worth the trek. My mom and my daughter (who never fished for trout this way) had a blast fishing and the innkeeper, Horst, went out of his way to help, give pointers and make sure our every need was met. He even offers a service to clean and package all caught fish to make the stay hassle free. Of course there is an additional charge but it's worth it. Horst and his wife were so friendly! They were so hospitable but also gave us our space and privacy. They even went the extra mile to provide a room for our family to decorate a table and celebrate mom's birthday with the cake we got her...Afterwards, we stayed in very comfortable beds and were given access to the lodge lounge area after hours. In the morning, our breakfast was good & made to order which such variety and appealing presentation. When we got home, my elderly mom said that staying at the lodge was her favorite gift from her birthday. I think that says it all!…
