I accidentally made a reservation for this hotel thinking I was making a reservation at great wolf lodge. I immediately canceled my reservation and attempted to recover my money. I was refused a refund. I would think in good faith Wolf Inn would have understood the mistake and refund me my money. Beware this place is shady to say the least. !!!

The rooms are outfitted with a complimentary smell of cheap cigarettes and stale biological smells. Being a budget hotel, you should expect this smell to be USA Gold level cigarettes and not Camel like a more high end hotel. This is to be expected. This has the unexpected but welcomed bonus of extra eyeball lubrication when the tears automatically start. The AC's are themed. They function well. They are themed with an aesthetic that suggests "1990's appliance dump pile in woods" chic. I didn't use my television but next door's TV worked well, even at 3 am. Every word and music note were crystal clear. Note well: the walls are only thin enough for audio, NOT video. Wifi generously supplied by the hotel gives hints and flirtations of connectivity. This is great for those guests who rue routine and need excitement in their life. For those who need stability and consistency, I recommend using your cellular service to stay in touch with the internet. The bathrooms don't breed confidence or give off what you'd describe as either a "clean" or "welcoming" vibe. This sort of inclusion to the unhomed or crust punk communities is a nice, thoughtful touch. Complimentary toiletries are not environmentally friendly since there's more packaging than product BUT thankfully, there's not much of either to worry over. The bathtub and shower look sketchy but the black mold that covers the corners is a neat accent. In leu of an exhaust fan, the bathroom has a window you can open. During your downtime, you can play spot the voyeur as you take care of your hygiene needs. There is a decent sized fridge available in the room. It has a feature that lets you know it's running by filling the entire room with sound when it runs that compliments the neighbor's TV quite well. My room was equipped with a chair and dresser that houses the TV, fridge, and modest microwave. It also has TWO outlets (which is double the usual one other rooms get) available to charge the 5 electronics I brought. There is no desk, no ironing board or iron to get in your way to slow you down. The windows are privacy minded with a clever amount of dirt, fog, scratches, and cracks and therefore are difficult to see through. However, it was still thoughtful of them to provide curtains that even block out some of the sun. In my room, the curtains had what one would describe as a "mustard yellow" patina with cigarette tar accent. It really brings the room together. Bring a sleeping bag and camp out on the bed. Promptly dispose of sleeping bag when done using it. Wear shoes at all time. Even in bed. Even in the shower. Do not ask questions, just trust me on this. In my bathroom, you get some door frame around the door. This gives unique insight into the wall structure of the building that other hotels simply do not offer. My room also had complimentary sound. There's a constant sound of broken washing machine, underwater microphone, the reverse alarm noise of a Tesla, and a stereotypical science fiction movie UFO noise. It does this in the key of d minor, though the melody is admittedly somewhat lacking. They don't look happy to be here, as if working here has ruined their soul. This is another sort of inclusive detail that again, other hotels simply lack. For anyone who has ever ordered fast food, you can see that same 1000 yard stare in both employees. It forced me to support the local McDonald's because it made me hungry. The staff don't harass you TOO much either, falling within the modest range of "more than not" and "less than a lot". The stairs going up to the second floor of the motel portion of the business are nice and spongy with plenty of give when stepped on, good for sore feet. The hand rails are mostly rusted away from where they attach to the structure. Keep in mind these are cosmetic only and not to be used as functional handrails. An outdoor pool is available that is free from cadavers and wildlife. For your convenience, there is a restaurant attached to the main building that sells a serving of vegan taco for $15.

No complaints, especially considering it's very affordable. ...laughable when people complain in reviews about every little thing, when this place isn't very much cost-wise. It was perfect for our needs. Nice little breakfast diner right next door.

We go to cedar point often and if we stay in the area it’s normally at castaway bay or somewhere like that. Well this time we wanted a basic room to save a little money since we weren’t planning to be in the hotel except to sleep. We have a large family so got one room with 2 beds and one single bed room. While driving to our room you could see sketchy looking people sitting with their doors open or random stuff outside in front of doors like people were possibly living there. Unfortunately we already paid and couldn’t get a refund so we made our way up the stairs that were ready to fall apart… the key fob took a minute to work… the room had old blankets and carpet. We checked for bugs and didn’t see any in the beds. The room had a tiny microwave but it worked and a mini fridge that did not work! The towels are tiny and tough. Everything is old and outdated. The single room had tile flooring and was tiny… it fit the full size bed and tv stand and that’s it. Barely any plugs to charge electronics and some wiring/cable stuff not covered on the wall. Comforter was extremely worn and pillows were terrible! Mattress was worn and springs could be felt. The fridge in the single room also didn’t work! Shower curtains were old… shampoo is in a packet and is like prison shampoo.. soap is tiny and also like something you would get in jail. The A/c in both rooms worked good. In the middle of the night I could hear knocking and taking outside..and although it is called a “hotel” on the sign… it is definitely a motel! I will never stay here again. Save yourself the trouble and pay more to stay somewhere better!!!

One of the worst motels/hotels. Charged me $20 extra for an early check in (my family arrived 40 minutes earlier). The smell inside of the room is terrible. Do not walk inside with your shoes off! Your feet will be dirty, yes its that bad. Bath tub's paint was pealing off. Water temperature changes from super hot to cold by itself. We used our towels and bedding sheets. Stay away from this place!

Do not stay at The Wolf Inn in Sandusky, Ohio. Extremely bad smell and gross, stained bed spreads. We left and did not stay even when they refused a refund. We were not the only ones who left that day for the same reason. The manager, Brandi, was extremely unprofessional and rude on the phone. She swore at me and hung up on me. She refused to allow me to talk to the owner to resolve the issue. The website claims it is recently renovated and a Summit Motorsports Park Hotels which are both untrue.

This place was great. The overall appearance is nice. The staff was friendly and helped with anything we needed. The price was great and was only a few minutes away from our destination "The World-Famous Cedar Point". I would recommend this place for someone looking for a clean bed and a hot shower. The pool is very nice too.

Very affordable place to stay. The staff is very professional and friendly. Upon checking in I felt very welcomed by Jeremy the front desk clerk. Later I enjoyed a conversation with Jack, the maintenance man. The improvements made since taking over the hotel are remarkable. The swimming pool is very well maintained. I really enjoyed my evening swim. Wolf inn is very family friendly. I highly recommend staying at this property when visiting the area or Cedar Point.

I have been following a couple of Cedar Point fan pages for a while in preparation of our visit to the area. During my search for hotels, Wolf Inn was suggested by a couple of people. There were also many that warned me to stay away. I like to make decisions based on my own experiences so after 2 called to the hotel and many questions, I booked 5 nights for 4 people. We arrived July 26 and were given a second level room right by the exit doors of the executive building. The first thing we noticed was that this was a separate building with no desk staff. The second thing was that all exit doors remain open and accessible to anyone. We entered our room and found that 2 of the drop ceiling tiles were missing from the bathroom. We contacted the front desk and maintenance came immediately to replace them. However, within the hour one was already wet from an apparent roof leak. We brought it to their attention again but the wet staining continued to grow throughout our stay. There was rust in the tub and the shower curtain was very discolored. The beds were covered in very oversized quilts with burn holes in both of them. The blankets were small and very scratchy. Sheets appeared clean. Mattresses were not terrible but some springs could be felt. We asked for a free folding bed but it was not at all usable and we had to get our own air mattress. (2 adults in a full size bed was a bit tight.) The carpet was very sticky and left black residue on socks and bare feet. The TV cable did not work and after notifying maintenance, it was promptly fixed but went out again about 30 mins later. We did not complain about it again bc it was more hassle than it was worth. There was only one outlet to be used for my fan and charging cell phones for 4 people. Beyond all of this, the biggest issue was the SMELL. When the ceiling tiles were being fix we asked why the room had such a strong chemical smell like fuel or oil. It was assumed it was due to a roof repair and thought that the missing tiles allowed the smell to penetrate the room. Come morning our daughter was so nauseous that she couldn’t go to Cedar Point with us and I had a headache. The next day was a repeat of the same. When realized our symptoms improved when we were out of the room. We asked to switch rooms and were moved downstairs. At first we were pleased with the switch. But as the day got hotter outside, the chemical smell returned inside. Again the headaches and nausea returned. We realized we were being poisoned by something being vented into the hotel rooms that gets worse when the AC units are running. The hotel manager confirmed the smell when she came to our room and suggested the attached restaurant may have something to do with it, although this was not confirmed. We ended up having to leave a day early because of toxic smell. I think some visitors confuse the smell with cigarette smell, which is also prominent here. Despite all the issues, the owner refused any kind of reimbursement. Clearly health and safety is not a priority at this hotel. The staff were all very kind but clearly the owner isn’t interested in quality customer service. Under better leadership, it could be a great option for families visiting Cedar Point.

My room had bed bugs so I told the manager and he said his rooms dont have bed bugs, and refused to do anything about it. I also did not feel safe on this property. I saw several needles and witness drug use. I will never stay here again. Disgusting.
