DO NOT STAY HERE!! My wife and I had a two day reservation at this hotel 9/14 - 9/16 and checked in late after a long drive after work from Michigan. Our room had 1 towel only and a few wash cloths that were all used. My wife went a got clean towels for us. The next morning as we started to get ready for the day we noticed just how gross the room was. There was mold in the shower, the tub filled up While showering, the toilet didn’t flush and there was pubic hair on the wall by the sink. The bed had dead moths under the blanket, lifting up the fitted sheet revealed a soiled mattress and even more pubic hair all over. I went to the hotel management with our concern and asked for a refund of our stay. They said we had to wait until the owner was awake to ask him. I had written in detail about our concerns and the manager read it to him when he was awake. His offer was to upgrade our room but would not refund our 1 night stay. We checked out and reserved another room at another hotel.

The room obviously had not been cleaned in a while - dirty floors, garbage left in fridge, grit on bureau. Smelled strongly of insecticide. Towels and sheets were stained. Light fixture above sink did not work. Safe did not work. Weird key and only received one.

We stayed two nights and never again. Not only did the maid conveniently “forget” to clean our room, but when I complained to 2 different front desk staff, I was basically told nothing could be done. I was then handed a business card and told to contact the manager by email who only works Wed/Thurs?! The rooms are dirty, everything is run down, they obviously don’t care about the property or their guests. Worst customer service ever. The best thing about this place was the cornflakes and toast for breakfast.

I booked a room to stay for two nights with my daughter. It was extremely small, but appeared to at least be clean. Thank goodness I chose two beds because they were very very small. They were also SUPER uncomfortable. I always bring my own pillows, blankets, and towels when I travel. Glad I had made that a habit. I would NOT have touched their towels with 10 foot pole. We slept on top of the beds, not in them. There was a breakfast offered, but based on the look of the rooms, we stayed away from their food. I will say that the one woman we met when checked in was friendly, and the room served its purpose, but we will not be returning there. Ever.

Housekeeping missed our room the two days we expected them, the desk clerk had to try to keep up with Checkins/outs as well as breakfast area. Polite staff. They control room A/C units from desk and twice ours was shut off while we were out. Pool was clean but very cold. Room was worn, but okay, but I'd suggest bringing your own pillows. Just FYI- two floors and no elevator (often missed in hotel descriptions). I wouldn't have an issue staying again, if I'm looking for a no-frills stay over.

We stood from Thursday to Sunday, the first day (Friday) we came back to our room around 11 P.M, and the room was as we left it, meaning no new towel because help the maids by leaving old ones by the door. I had to go down that night, and received only wash cloths ONLY. Next morning (Saturday) talked to the front desk person who stated they maids put down our room was cleaned Friday. Basically every day we were there it was the same excuse, no towels (ran out), always had to go down to get other supplies (toilet paper and etc.). Also on Friday night went into the dinning area noticed the pan under the waffle machine was not changed out, because there was still waffle mix in the pan. The next morning (Saturday) I went to breakfast and noticed the same pan, from the day before, which had the same waffle mix in the same spot as the night before. Breakfast of Saturday was horrible went down at 8:30 A.M., lady in front of me tried to use the syrup machine, no more syrup, lady at front counter notified, all she did was tip the machine to have only a little bit of the remaining syrup come out. At no time did she every place the old syrup container with a new one, especially when you have an hour and half to go. I observed, hear and talked to other people staying had the same problem or more as I have noted above. TOTALLY UNSAT customer service. I WILL not and recommend not to stay here.

Ok let’s face it this place is trying to get better. We made reservations ahead for family suite and room was clean no bugs and was on the inside of the building where the registration is. Ask for inside rooms you will not hear trains yes they go thru around 3 am but being in an inside room is much quieter. My suggestion is make sure your stuff is locked in safe when u leave room . There were no problems except for sink not draining. The beds were very firm not the best. But we had microwave and fridge. Cedar point is basically 5 min from here.

This motel, is very close to Cedar Point Park. This is the one redeeming quality that this location has. This place has seen it's better days about 10 years ago. I asked for a room for 5 adults. I got a room with 2 double beds, and 1 sofa bed. The room was clean, but the sofa has seen better days, that mattress was very thin. The room was small for 5 adults. It did come with a mini frig, which worked quite well, and the freezer even worked. ( it froze our ice pack over night ) It also had a micro wave and a small safe. The mattress that I had was like sleeping on a concrete slab. The bathroom was clean, but they could really scrub the bottom of the tub, as it was black in some areas. Bring your own soap, shampoo, and conditioner as they do not supply any. I had to leave a note asking the house keeping to empty the trash cans, as both were full. I also had to ask for fresh towels, ( no there were no signs about going GREEN ) We did not use the pool, it's out door. I was afraid that the pool might not be taken care of as well. the carpet on the stairs going up to our room, was worn and torn, someone could get hurt on those steps. Oh the towels are like sand paper. The staff is friendly kind of, a bit of an attitude if you ask for things. Breakfast was hard boiled eggs, coffee, juice, dry cereal and pastry, oh they did have a make your own waffle machine. I would not stay here again. This place needs a total remodeling and upgrade. Needless to say the wi fi was slow

This motel was founded by Ray Sawyer and Ed Semmler of Fort Worth, Texas in 1975. Unlike most motel chains, this motel is independently owned and is allowed to use the Budget Host name. I've gotta hand it to these people who run this place. They've kept it in the original condition for over 40 years! It's truly a historic Motel Time Capsule! Unbelievable! We stayed in Room #252 the first week of July in 2018. Ironically, I stayed in this very same room when I was ten years old on a trip to Cedar Point in 1982. I have pictures to prove it! The Mulberry tree outside our window was just a little bush in my family's photo decades ago! Do I feel old or what? They even have the same picture hanging on the wall for crying out loud! Can you believe that? Same fixtures and lighting too! And the bathroom bulb still flickers! I can still hear my father complaining about that light over the sink. "I can't see my reflection!" I believe the comforter on the beds might even be the same too, but I can't tell from the pictures on mom's old Kodak 126 Instamatic 50 camera. Green or brown? Same design though. Simply amazing! This room even features a telephone book! Get outta here! A telephone book! I'll tell you what.... if Ray and Ed could see this place now they'd be so proud and shocked at the same time! If you're looking to add some funny memories at Cedar Point, this is it! They have a nice pool! I even did a cannonball into it just for old time sake! I would have given this place an extra star, but breakfast was a disappointment. Who really cares though, right? I'm a Kellogg's Frosted Flakes guy myself.
