We had a fantastic experience at this hotel! I checked in through the app and requested a mobile key, and they actually sent my mobile key a few hours before check-in time. They were also extremely quick at responding on chat and were so lenient about emailing my Explore Discount form which was extremely helpful. Room was super clean and quiet with a nice view. Entire building felt new. The front desk associates were friendly and courteous. Complimentary bottles of water as well as ample glasses in the room. Another huge personal plus for me was that they use Aveda shampoo/conditioner/body wash. We checked in around 11:50pm and realized that the bar on the 12th floor closed at 12:00am. We were disappointed because we figured we were too late, but we went up to go check anyway. It was totally empty and all of the chairs were put up, but the bartender still poured us a quick drink (reasonably priced, too) and even gave us a complimentary breakfast coupon for the next morning (which we did not get to try this time but will definitely go next time). He mentioned that he always keeps the bar open until midnight in case there are guests who check in late, which we thought was super kind and were impressed by. All of these little positive aspects added up and confirmed to us that this will be our go-to hotel to stay at when passing through Ohio, but the experience with the bartender really topped it off.

We stayed here for two nights in March. It was relatively slow and quiet. Beds were comfortable. Hotel was quiet. Check-in was seamless but we thought it odd that no one even looked up when we passed the desk several times during our stay. A smile and an acknowledging nod would have been more welcoming than staff looking at their phones. There is an "executive lounge" that we had access to but it was unclear what was available and when. We were able to grab a bag of pretzels and water/soft drinks but the coffee machine wasn't working. Rooms were average size but bathroom was tiny and out dated. There were Aveda products in the shower and in-room coffee pods that were pretty bad. There is an in-room fridge but no microwave. We requested housekeeping for fresh towels but no one showed up. We called valet for our car and they brought the wrong car. (They brought a Mercedes...maybe we should have taken it!😂) The valet was very apologetic so no big deal. There is a restaurant on site but we didn't try it. The best thing about the hotel was the location. We could walk to the Valentine Theatre and to the Chop House for dinner. Overall, this was a great place to stay for the location but they have some bugs to work out. We'll be back in Toledo in June. Might stay there...might check out something else.

Hotel is very worn. Our first room heat didn’t work. Second room the reading light was stuck on had to unplug to turn off. Both rooms bathroom sinks scratched and stained. Bonvoy Elite breakfast was cold. Carpet stained as well. Facility has seen better days.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference in September. In general the staff seemed very overwhelmed and service was pretty inconsistent. Dinner at the restaurant took over 30 minutes to deliver a bottle of wine with attitude as if we were a burden for ordering a bottle of wine from the wine list. It is a pretty outdated hotel with old furniture and a bit rundown. All the dirty sheets and towels lay on ground for hours in the halls which looks terrible. The lounge was very basic and clearly they are cutting corners. I had breakfast each morning at Focaccia across the street instead for better food. I booked a suite and found it interesting that the refrigerator is in the bedroom and not near the wet bar, not great for entertaining and business meetings. In general if I returned to Toldeo I'd look for a better hotel.

Coleson, Lukas and the entire valet team showed us exceptional customer service! From their greetings to their smiles made it easy for us to hand our keys over. We knew our vehicles were good hands. THANK YOU!

Stayed here during a conference and the hotel and restaurant staff seemed overwhelmed by the full hotel. Not that big a deal except my room was so noisy I barely slept! Every 3 minutes a loud rumbling noise came from the walls and would wake me up. I asked to be moved to another room but the front desk said all rooms sounded like that when the furnaces kick on. It sounded like I was in the engine room of a cruise ship. To top it off there were no coffee pods available except for the one in the room when you initially check in.

Beds were comfortable. It was not clear that wi-fi was free so we did not take advantage of that. No microwave in room, fridge did not have a freezer. Ironing board and iron were provided, but no hair dryer. Weird, most people dry their hair, these days not many people iron clothes. Parking was horrible. Had to go thru underground tunnel to get to parking garage. Had to pay each time we left the garage. Not at all convenient. Maybe this is typical for downtown Toledo hotels. Convenient location but poor amenities for the price, we felt it was not worth it. Next time I would get a cheaper and more convenient hotel in the 'burbs' and tolerate the extra driving time.

We are disappointed to hear that you had these issues at the property. We are certainly supposed to have hair dryers in each of the rooms and I will have a conversation about that. Wifi at the property is complimentary to all guests, but we do have an upgraded wifi that is not. Parking at the hotel is self parking, that you pay on your own or we have valet parking that has in an out privileges for a fee that we can add to your hotel stay.

The Renaissance continues to be the best hotel in Toledo. Rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. As a riverfront hotel, many of the rooms have killer views of the Maumee River in downtown Toledo. However, five years into its existence, things are starting to show their age. Furniture has some scuffs and scratches. The walk-in shower has some mold and mildew around the tiles and in the corners of the shower. The sink bowl is heavily scratched. Some of the walls need fresh paint or wallpaper because of damage. Several of the electrical and USB outlets don't work. I tried multiple devices so I know it wasn't my device. No bathrobe or slippers. No newspapers. Lobby restaurant appears to be permanently closed. Rooftop bar is now the restaurant, but the menu is pretty basic. Think pizzas, burgers and salads. Front Desk could have been better. I was never addressed by name, welcomed or thanked for staying. I never received a welcome letter or any sort of information about the hotel or the local area, including the complimentary bicycles and the complimentary shuttle within the downtown Toledo area. Bonvoy elite status recognition is pretty basic. You will get a river-facing room on a high floor. That's it. The club/executive lounge is open, but the food is pretty basic. At breakfast you get assorted breakfast bread, powdered eggs, bacon, oatmeal, sugary cereal, Greek yogurt, and sliced pineapple and melon. At night, it looked like fried chicken or something like that on a skewer with assorted cheeses. That's it. Beverages are complimentary, which is nice. The two female lounge attendants (one lady's name started with A and the other started with M) were awesome. Polite, welcoming and very attentive. They do a great job. They are the epitome of who you want working in a hotel. Likewise, Austin and the entire valet parking team is superb. At five years, it's time for some fresh paint and updates to keep this the best hotel in Toledo.

I checked in August 12th, checked out August 14th. I valet parked my vehicle, I was thinking, great service. My check in was seamless and extremely welcoming and friendly. I received the room key and headed to my room. I made it to the floor and was so confused as I couldn’t find my room number. The room was there, but no identifying number outside of my room…. I eventually figured it out. I was then super excited to go to the Brim House when it opened, it never opened…. DISAPPOINTED…. Later in the evening we decided to hang out in the room, I went to grab ice…. The machine did not work……. The next morning, we hoped to have breakfast at the Brim House, but no, still closed….. On check out day, I went to turn my ticket into valet parking, to find that it wasn’t truly valet. I had to carry my luggage across the street down the road to retrieve my car, yet they still charged me for VP parking.. SAD AND DISAPPOINTING…. I PAID $277 a night plus tax , + valet, etc, etc for this lack of service and amenities.

We were in town for a Mudhens game. The hotel is only a couple minutes away from the stadium. Too far to walk, but still only a short drive. The rooftop restaurant and bar is great! The food was good and the staff was friendly. The view isn’t too shabby either.
