The campground, ran by Hoodoo is great. All these bad reviews are for the RV park and campground, they represent about 10℅ of the camping at Craine Prairie. The name on this is misleading and should be changed. Make your reservation reserve America, not here. Not developed much, pit toilets cleaned many times daily, sites are big, lake is calm...

We stayed in the campground over the Labor Day weekend. This is a lovely spot on the lake with mountains in the background. Tons of hiking trails nearby and campsites are wooded with water and electric. We were in the upper loop among a huge group of families. They blared music, had a lot stuff strewn around their sites and...

My group of four was touring central oregon by motorcycle and stopped in for gas at crane Prarie. We arrived by 6pm and the owner was angry at us for trying to buy gas 2 hours before the store closed. We all had spare gas tanks in addition to our main tanks to fill, and the owner was too dumb...

The Crane Prairie Resort and RV Park was a great holiday weekend spot...the sites are huge, easy to get into, and full hookups in a rustic wooded setting. The lower loop is close to the dock and the store (which has everything you left at home). The owners were friendly and helpful. Sunset from the dock is not quite Hawaii,...

We stayed in the campground at three sites. We had a wonderful time and will be going back again next year. We were warned about flying bugs but the only issue we had was bees. We left them alone and they left us alone. SO all GOOD!!!

The campsites are wide & easy to access. Lots of trails to explore. Deer walked through the campsites and we saw more along the trails. Good docks for boats and a well stocked store. Fishing was good especially for those fly fishing. Only complaint was the poor wiring. Apparently there is no ground wire. Definitely not good for modern motorhomes....

The resort is a great place to stay... Staff are not rude and are willing to help with anything. The price is right for full hook up. it is a quite place to stay. We use this as a base camp to explore all the lakes in the region. One issue is the metallic smell of the tap water. Okay...

I have camped at Crane four times now. The key to this camp ground is to stay in the Forest Service camp ground and NOT the resort camp ground. They are two seperate things. The FS is one of the better ones in the high lakes with nice vault bathrooms, paved roads, and nice camp spot right on the lake....

Beware when making your reservations. They do not tell you what their cancellation policy is. If you cancel within 2 weeks of your arrival you forfeit your 2 night deposit. We made our reservation within 2 weeks of our arrival over the phone. We were not told about the 2 week cancellation policy. Just that if we didn't show up...

THINK AGAIN BEFORE CAMPING AT CRANE PRAIRIE RESORT!! This was my first time ever going to Crane Prairie and I was very excited until I got there. I am very much an avid camper (born and raised in Oregon) and I have camped at MANY campgrounds in this beautiful state and this is by far thee worst experience I have...
