This Best Western was a beautiful get away. The location, right on the Columbia River is excellent. We upgraded to a balcony room and it is well worth it for the view. The amenities are nice, and they offer a coupon for a delicious breakfast next door at the Bridge Cafe. The staff is excellent, very helpful and the location is perfect to either walk, bike or travel by car to the many waterfalls and scenic areas in the Gorge. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. The hotel is located next to a operating train track but the room was still pretty quiet. The staff did leave ear plugs for guests to use if the train noise was bothersome, which is was not to us. We thought it was a rather peaceful sound and you hardly heard the trains with the windows and door closed.

This is probably the nicest Best Western we have ever stayed in. The lady in reception was so warm and welcoming, and we loved our 2 Queen bed room with the beautiful river view. I had read some of the reviews that talked about noise from passing trains, but we didn't hear a thing. We are so glad we chose this hotel for our one night stay, we were only sorry that we couldn't have stayed here longer.Would definitely come back if we are ever again in the area.

If I could give Location a 6/5 I would -- awesome view of the river and the Bridge of the Gods, very short walk to Brigham Fish Market and Thunder Island Brewing for great lunch and dinner. I did spring for a river view room, and nothing beats waking up, making a cup of coffee from the room, and enjoying the view from your balcony. The rest of the hotel was just fine, but it's really hard to top that. Breakfast was cooked to order at a restaurant next door. There is train noise at night, but only comes through once or twice, and they do provide earplugs. The WiFi worked great, I did do some work in the mornings, including a Zoom meeting, and there were no problems. Overall, I would definitely return!

We stayed in room 103, which was nearly uninhabitable owing to plumbing noises from adjacent rooms. The sounds of flushing toilets, showers, and other running water were so loud we had to turn up the TV to compensate—much, much louder than anything we did in our own room. Not only was there no evidence of soundproofing, something about the construction amplified the noise. We could also plainly hear conversation taking place in other rooms. Adding this to the fact that our request for a room away from the elevators was ignored means we will never stay here again. The front desk denied ever hearing of this complaint from other customers—impossible to believe.

I wanted to love this motel. It’s a great location, the staff was nice… however, there were problems. We booked a room with a walk in shower as we are both handicapped. We got in early, and were given room 109 - great! - a first floor room, easy to get to…. Unfortunately, the check in desk is actually on floor 2, so getting to room 109 required a walk, an elevator ride, and another walk. When we got to our room, our room door cards didn’t work! That meant a walk back to the desk - or maybe calling the desk from our cell phones. Luckily, I noticed a housekeeping cart further down the hallway, and yelled “help”. A woman named Rosio came to our rescue, rushed our cards down and came back with working ones. Thank you Rosio! (you bet we left her a tip!) Ok, into the room: I immediately noted a problem: two queen beds with the shelf unit between them. When you travel with as much “baggage” as we do (heating pads, CPAPs, cell phones, tablets) a lot of plug-ins are needed. That meant we had to sleep in separate beds in order to use the plug-ins on the shelf unit. Ok, so the next morning we showered. The bathroom had a walk-in shower and a shower chair to use, unfortunately, it did not have a hand held sprayer, making it difficult to use. After packing up the car, it was time for breakfast. This motel provides a free breakfast - at the Bridgeside restaurant next door. It’s not a long walk, but difficult for a handicapped person. And be aware the free breakfast menu is limited to a third of the whole menu. Will we go back? Probably not.

Excellent hotel. Courteous staff. The location is unbeatable. The included breakfast next door was delicious and of an incredible value (our meal and drinks for three would have cost $46 without the hotel breakfast vouchers). Plus, we were able to enjoy our breakfast with views of the river.

We appreciated the complimentary coffees teas, and hot chocolate available in the lobby.

The pool and hot tub were both on the smaller size for the size of the hotel and we did hear the train occasionally, but that did not bother us. Highly, highly recommend.

There are few options in this area that has a small downtown, and a few attractions we were interested in. Everything in downtown is walkable from this location including the beach. As a tourist I was unaware that you CAN NOT swim at this beach, not that I was planning on it, but that is very important, I do not think this hotel had a pool, which as a beach location without swimming options would be helpful. The staff was very helpful, warning us about driving on the beach, again, something I didn’t realize was an option, telling us food options, and warning us not to clean out catch in our room (lol). Also something we didn’t realize was an option. The room was clean and comfortable, however our room was directly across from the elevator not an ideal location especially when the hotel was NOT to capacity the room next to us was occupied. The reason why being next to another occupied room was problematic was because the doors here are heavy and when they close they slam, and actually shook our bedroom walls waking us up. The bathtub in our room drained very slowly, and the curtain does not fit correctly causing splash over which made a mess on the floor. I realize I am being critical, but these are little things that can be fixed, and I am sure the staff is aware of the problem. Overall we were happy with our stay here, and although we will probably not revisit this area, I would recommend this hotel for a one or two night stay, as it was a good nights sleep, I felt safe, room was comfortable, breakfast was included, and had several options, coffee was hot, and tasty, and the woman preparing the breakfast area was so friendly, and wanted everyone to be happy.

I have stayed here 4 or 5 times for a total of 15-20 nights over the last 2 years and can't say enough good things about it. The rooms are large and updated and clean. Everyone is friendly. They give you a voucher for the restaurant next door for breakfast and there are several great options. Someone else cooks the food, and they bring it to you on a real plate and have real silverware, not plastic. They also have a coffee meachine in the lobby that is available 24/7.

The staff was exceptional and the rooms were spotless! Rooms had comfy beds, good quality linens, and were very clean! The rooms with balconies were TOTALLY worth the extra 20 per night. The sunsets and view of the river and the Bridge of the Gods was sensational! The voucher for breakfast included a choice of 5 large, delicious meals. I can't wait to come back! Location was great too as it was an easy 20 minute drive to many incredible waterfalls. The local brewery was a 5 minute walk and had incredible views and great food and drink too!

4TH floor looks right down on the Oregon side of the Columbia river Gorge UP main line and a siding you can see well from the window or balcony. Then across river you have a great view and can hear very well the east west mainline for B.N.S.F. in Washington state. They have ear plugs in the room if you need them you are staying in the wrong Hotel. Was freezing with window open but nothing like the sound of one freight train after the other in the middle of the night.

The Columbia River Gorge is loaded with hiking trails. The Old Columbia Gorge Highway will take you to multiple waterfalls, including Multnomah Falls, and hiking trails. Cascade Locks also has a paddle boat cruise. Hood River, close by, has wind surfing, paddle boating, and multiple other options. Both have fine eateries and breweries and wineries, if those are of interest to you. All of these are in Hood River County which you can research online.

I always call the hotel directly, after looking on-line for rates. I also have a AAA discount. Rates for hotels usually are based on the amount of people booking, the season, and whether there is an event going on at that time.
