We stayed here because it was close to hiking all the waterfalls nearby. We didn't spend much time in the campground itself as we were out exploring. However, the site was very nice and the campground itself was quiet.

My daughter, grandson and I were traveling to the coast and I wanted to stay in a forested area and this sure fits the bill! Saw a lot of reviews online that said this was a noisy park because of the location to the train tracks. We were in a tent and the sound of the trains were soothing. They... More

After a difficult travel day, we were glad to get to Ainsworth State Park for the night. The campground is on a slight ridge, so your neighbors are above you and below you. It is lush, green, and full of Oregon's beautiful trees. We arrived on July 4, JUST before dark. We had hoped to see fireworks nearby, but the... More

I was looking for a quick "get out of the city for one night bike trip", and this is where I landed. Ainsworth state park has a large field that they allot to the hike-in and bike-in campers. The field could easily hold up to 20 tents at a time, and has one picnic table. Even though they list this... More

We really enjoyed this camping spot. I can see why others would find it loud though. The train and highway are close. It didn't bother us, but if you are a light sleeper or in a tent, it might not be the place for you. The trees and landscape are spectacular and you are SO close to the waterfall hiking/walking... 4 of us went on a girls weekend to Oregon to visit Multnomah Falls. We had an amazing experience. Park host Dorie was so friendly and helpful throughout our time. None of us had much experience with tent camping but we still had a great time. The bathrooms were clean and close to the tent sites and the showers were... More

The reason I stayed here was the desire to hike in the Columbia Gorge, and this is the closest to go with my small rv. No large rigs should try to drive the Historic Highway 30 - this state park is right at exit 35 off I-84 and you can reach it without getting into tight spaces along the narrow,... More

This vould be a nice park except for it's nearness to railroad tracks. Trains run 24/7. Some so loud they dhook my rv. It was nice to be so near Portland and the waterfalls. We stayed in B loop which puts you much nearer the tracks. If you want to stay here I would recommend A loop if it is... More

We stayed in A11 and I highly recommend that spot. It's shaded and super quiet in that loop. Almost all the rest of the sites were either not shaded or had dead vegetation around it. C loop is for walk in campers, A loop is up above and more secluded but really for RV campers. It has full hook ups... More
