This hotel was comfortable and clean, The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There was a good hot breakfast every morning. We didn't use the indoor pool and hot tub but they looked clean and in great condition. We will definitely come back.

I don't typically make a lengthy response to one or two star reviews, but this one warrants one. We can agree on a couple of things: 1) You checked in on the day that our housekeeping staff, as a group, had probably their worst day of the year. They had missed many things, and our front desk staff had to scramble to be sure rooms were adequately clean, stocked and put together as guests were arriving. The lack of cleanliness of your room is neither normal nor acceptable to us. Management addressed the lackluster effort with the housekeepers the next morning. 2) Some of our fans are noisy. They can be repaired, and we do repair them when we are aware of them. Again, housekeeping should have made maintenance aware of your noisy fan before you arrived. We plan to replace all the fans with quieter models (quieter even than properly working old ones). That should happen this winter. If your room had been sparkling clean, would that have changed your overall impression? If it had not been hot and hazy during your stay? I suppose we'll never know. But as to your other observations, here are some facts: 1) The hotel is 20 years old. Notwithstanding, other reviewers have said things like "great new hotel" and "nicely renovated place." 2) Since acquiring the property in 2013, we have made over $500,000 worth of improvements including siding, wallpaper, guest room heat and air units, automated entry doors, guest room security locks with RFID keys, insulation. The list goes on. We are excited to be making more investments and upgrades in the coming months. 3) The walls are actually double walls with offsetting studs. However, if the neighbors are noisy enough, it is difficult to make the walls thick enough. 4) We do want to improve our breakfast. However, other reviewers' comments have ranged from "could be better" to "surprisingly good." I am very sorry that you were disappointed with your stay here and wish we had given you much better service, at least in those areas that we could immediately control. Thank you for your feedback; it will help us improve.
