Pros: great location on the Willamette river, right near the walk/bike path and the Rose Garden. Helpful, friendly, and considerate staff. Great view of the river from our balcony, comfortable balcony seating. Cons: beds were a little too soft for me. Others may find them comfortable. I also found the restaurant to be a bit pricey for the quality; I've...

We stayed only one night but would have stayed longer if we could. Everyone was helpful, they even greeted our dogs! Room service was not only fast but really really good. Breakfast was outstanding! This is close to just about everything! Including river walk!

We hosted a conference for 100 people at the Valley River Inn in May 2016. We worked with Keri the Senior Catering Sales Manager and the attention to detail in the planning was fabulous. The conference room set up, banquet room and reception areas were perfect. The AV Manager Marc was available for our event and did a great job....

Spent two nights here in a river view room, and what a view it was! I enjoyed my coffee on our little balcony watching the river flow by each morning. I found the staff to be very friendly and there is even a cat named River who lives in the courtyard.

Hi Nancy, We really enjoy River Cat also. She was adopted by the Valley River Inn over ten years ago and she brings such simple pleasures to us and our guests. Thank you for the wonderful review and I hope you return.

VRI used to be the premier lodging for Eugene, but is sadly in need of modernizing although the rooms are spacious and clean. It feels like 1965 inside and even though the facility seems to pack its restaurant and meeting rooms with locals, there are many better places to stay in Eugene for the money.

Hi Steve, Thank you for the feedback and you are right that we need some updates. We are planning a multi million dollar renovation for next year as we recognize some love that needs to go back in this historic hotel. Hang tight, I promise you will love the finished product. We are starting by adding a new roof right...

The setting, with the Willamette River right out the door (with walking & bike path) is wonderful. The food in Sweetwaters was always delicious - whether breakfast or late night dinner at the bar. The room was lacking in basics that I would take for granted - no notepad and pen, no hotel directory/guide, and WiFi of such marginal connectivity...

Thanks for the feedback and I am happy you enjoyed Chef Ray's menu in SweetWaters. Looks like we missed some details in the rooms and I will let my team know. I do hope you come back.... as you are right... our location is perfect sitting right on the River in Eugene!

Our room was spacious and clean. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Our room was on the back by the river and it was quiet. We enjoyed a couple brews on the patio by the river. Dinner in the restaurant was good. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The rooms are clean, comfortable and updated. The hallways...

I appreciate you taking time to review us and I am thrilled you will join us when your travels bring you back to Eugene. We are planning a renovation next year so we will update the guest hallways. Booked this hotel months in advance for an event. A few weeks before the trip our child broke their leg and had to be in a wheelchair. We promptly phoned to request an ADA room which they told us they could do. When we arrived we were sent to another building across the parking lot with stairs up to the...

Hello Kristin, I am embarrassed and sincerely sorry that we totally dropped the ball. I will not make excuses for my staff, but instead, promise you that I take this serious and we should have been prepared for your arrival and request for an ADA room. I have some retraining to conduct and I will find immediate solutions. Again, please...

Originally built in the seventies, this hotel has been completely remodeled. Decor is trendy, classy and comfortable. There is no free breakfast provided. However, there is a very nice restaurant which is part of the hotel that provides a buffet. The hotel backs up against the local river providing a lovely, peaceful setting. Easy access to a jogging and bike...

This place is bad news. Was there last weekend for a conference. I made a reservation for two rooms at the rate my organization contracted with them--$114 per night. When I checked in, they said that the reservation was not made during the allowable time (it was) and told me each room would be $264 per night. Trust me, this...

Thank you for the honest response - we strive to exceed expectations and in this instance it is disappointing to hear we did not. We will address your concerns with our team - and thank those who did strive to make your stay more enjoyable such as the maintenance team and the good food served at the conference.
