This hotel is very unique and it fit our needs perfectly. There are some drawbacks, but if you are open minded and not planning to stay cooped up in your room for your stay then it's perfect. First, the cons: The rooms are small (they do have king suites but they are much pricier), the bathrooms are shared (I found...

It is nice to have a guest write a review listing the pros and cons of the location in the manor that you did. I agree this location is not intended to hold up in your room. It is designed to get out, meander and take in all the features of the property. I’m glad you mentioned the wine tour....

We love this hotel. They have great prices, a small theatre to see movies or live performances, a soaking pool and wonderful bars. The staff is always fun and friendly. We love to sit on the front lawn, sipping a drink and eating a basket of sweet potato fries! The rooms are clean and comfortable and they have great package...

Thank you for the ringing endorsement. What nice comments you have. I never grow tired of reviews that mention Pat's Corner out on the lawn. To me there is no better way to relax while basking in the nice weather. I will proudly share this review with the staff of the Grand Lodge. We look forward to your return.

While or meeting room was cozy and our service was attentive for the mot part, true to McMenamins form, the food was average, often served warm not hot, and usually very slow to deliver. Our individual rooms were comfortable - but bring earplugs and ask for a room away from the bathrooms due to the noise of people going in...

Julie, Thank you for the review. I’m sorry to hear the stay was anything less than excellent. I went ahead and provided this review to our managers who run the restaurants and bars in hopes of continual improvement by our staff and servers. It is good to read the rooms were comfortable. I have also notified my facilities team of...

We went to McMenimans for my friends birthday and we were very excited to try out a McMenimans property. Unfortunately we thought we were going to a property that had wine tastings, brewery tastings and a Distillery, this was not the case. For things to do they had a 'soaking tub' (an over-sized hot tub), Disc Golf (10 holes), and...

Thank you for the fair and objective review of the lodge. I appreciate the time you took to articulate details about your stay. This will help future guest and visitors to the lodge. The descriptions about the bathrooms will help others better understand the hotel layout. I recognize and agree at times the building can make unique sounds with the...

I booked a room with a bunk bed, with shared bathroom. It's the same price whether 1 or 2 people stay. If only 1 person stays you still get the room to yourself. I half expected a hostel like experience where you share a room. This was not the case. Bed is comfy. The walls are thin so you can...

Deinse I’m happy to see you enjoyed the room. The bunk rooms are unique and offer affordable getaways for those who book the rooms. Thank you for mentioning the former life of the lodge. I consider this the most important fact about our property. I rather enjoy going back in the minds eye to think of what life would’ve been...

The Grand Lodge was a great spot for a quick night away from home for my wife and I. We were so pleased with the level of service we received, especially when we had to request a pet friendly room at the last minute. Everyone was so accommodating and made the trip so easy. We also had a great room...

I have said it many times and I will proudly remark on it again. I’m elated about the pet friendliness of the lodge. We offer a nice destination for those with furry loved ones, especially with spring upon us and nicer weather. The lodge offers acres for roaming while tossing the disc on the golf course. All while having a...

We showed up during the Grand Lodge's 93rd birthday party this past weekend. It was very festive with free live entertainment, wine and spirits tastings, and lots of food on offer from the restaurants. If this celebration was any indication, I'd say check out any of their other events because you can just enjoy all of the entertainment without spending...

This place is a great place to stay and relax. The multiple choices of restaurants and pubs on the property is unique. Each one has a different theme and the menus vary slightly. The cool thing is that there are what I call "little treasures" at every turn. As in most McMenamin's facilities no surface goes un-decorated. This place is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Make a grand escape to McMenamins Grand Lodge! It's all in the details here, with the stately columns and winding drive, wide green lawn, 77 European-style guestrooms, restaurants, movie theater and small bars and some of the most fantastic artwork to ever grace these walls. Built in 1922 as a Masonic & Eastern Star home, the Grand Lodge has stories to tell. Renovated and opened by McMenamins in 2000, what was once tranquil and serene is now vibrant and colorful. Here the walls do speak... As do the doorways, the hallways, and even the overhead pipes. (Look up...)Inspired by the history of the city of Forest Grove and the building itself, McMenamins' artists have infused the Grand Lodge with original artwork and historical photographs - all tributes to the cast of characters who left their mark before us. ... more   less
