What a perfectly fine little ski lodge at which to save a little money compared to Timberline or an Airbnb. The snow was up to the second floor window when we were there, and our room had a nice little view of the trees and stream that abut the hotel. The proximity to the pretty decent brewpub nextdoor was a big plus, as was the little hot tub room (kids loved it). Breakfast was ok. We’ll come again for sure - a bargain!

Thanks for staying with us! I’m delighted to see that you had a fun time at the hotel and in Government Camp! It’s been a snowy spring, so it’s great to hear that you were able to come up and enjoy Mt. Hood before the end of the season. Be sure to look us up for your next trip since we’d love to see you again!

The hotel was nice. Unfortunately because of covid we couldn't gather in the nice lobby or have a breakfast buffet. They had a "grab and go" little packaged muffin thing instead. The room was clean and modern. Location is just at the end of "town" so you can easily walk to the bars and restaurants of government camp but far enough away so that it's quiet. Our room (#216) seemed smaller than most and with a smaller window for some reason. Other than that, no complaints.

This hotel is nothing special, but after a long day hiking, it was the perfect place to rest. It was near Mt. Hood Brewery which had some great beers and food. It was also within walking distance to the "downtown" Government Camp area which had plenty of dining options.

They also had a nice indoor hot tub as well as a small free breakfast.

I’m not normally one to leave bad reviews but I felt this was necessary so the hotel takes appropriate action for their future guests.

We got to the property around 9pm after a long day of driving, excited to settle in and rest up for the following day. We checked in and went up to our room to find that it was barely cleaned. There was a dirty rag on the floor in the corner of the room; there were long black hairs on almost all of the pillows in our room; it wasn’t well vacuumed and the toilet paper roll wasn’t changed over from the previous guests.

I decided to mention it to the front desk person who was nice enough to offer us another room for the night and apologized for the inconvenience.

We got up to the next room but again found long black hairs on our pillow cases and a used tissue under the covers of the bed. We probably could have found more issues, but decided at that moment to leave the hotel and drive another hour to Portland rather than stay the night here.

I was told we’d be refunded for our stay and left my contact info for the GM who the front desk person said would be in the next morning to assist with the refund but I have not been contacted 4 days later.

We chose to stay here based on their 4 star overall rating but after looking more closely, we found several recent reviews with similar experiences.

Again, i’m generally not a picky person when it comes to where I stay, but there has to be a line drawn somewhere, especially given the premium price that they are charging for their stays here.

Overall, very disappointing experience and I hope they take appropriate action with their housekeeping staff.

If we were able to notice these issues immediately after entering these rooms, just imagine what other corners they could be cutting in their cleaning.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We deeply apologize for the unacceptable cleanliness issues you encountered during your stay. Your experience is far from the standards we strive to maintain, and we regret the impact this had on your visit. We understand how frustrating it must have been to arrive after a long day of travel only to find your room in such condition, and we are truly sorry that we did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your patience with the front desk and their efforts to provide an alternative room, but it is clear that we fell short again. Rest assured, we are addressing these concerns directly with our housekeeping team to ensure this does not happen in the future. We will also be reviewing our communication processes to ensure that guest concerns, such as your refund, are handled promptly and effectively. Your feedback is invaluable to us as it helps us identify and correct shortcomings in our service. We hope you will give us another opportunity to restore your trust in the future.

ski resort location at mt hood, government camp. no venue to wax skis for ski race. when i asked staff what our options were, they had none. When i asked if it would be ok to wax in the room, we have full drop cloth and clean impeccably. check-in staff ok'd it. next day, Staff was unwilling to back off the $250 charge for waxing in room, after they found it at room cleaning, They were very rigid in their stance. i still have yet to hear from the manager, but will be reaching out as the manager was unavailable on weekends.

I did review the information provided to me regarding this situation, and unfortunately I did not have confirmation of anyone clearing bringing ski’s into the guest room or having waxing occur in the room. This was something that we had to discontinue due to multiple instances of damages to rooms with both ski’s/snowboards damaging walls, water damage from snow melting off the equipment, and damage to carpet due to waxing occurring in the rooms. This is why we added this onto the registration card indicating that bringing ski’s/snowboards into the hotel would incur a fee. Unfortunately since the skis were in the room and the waxing did occur, we will be unable to refund the fee at this time.

Room blinds were stuck halfway down. When reported that to staff they said that all the blinds in the hotel are broken and cannot be fixed. They manually lowered the blinds but no light in room after. This was quite unacceptable! Paying $250+ per night and can’t even get basic things in the room to work!

The service staff also do not deliver towels, soaps etc to the room. Had to physically go down to the front desk and haul over these items…

We just completed a 5 night hiking trip around the Mt Hood & Columbia River Valley area. We are Best Western members and we booked 3 different BW hotels in the area. I must say that Best Western hotels seem to upping their game! Of course, this isn't a "5 Star" hotel, but I gave it 5 stars for this price point. This BW property isn't a BW "Plus," but they act like one. The property was upgraded/updated in recent years and it shows. They are doing a fine job maintaining the property. NOTE: We were on the 1st floor and I am guessing this was the pet-free floor. We accidentally went to the 2nd floor once and I seemed a bit musty in the hallway, so I wondered if that was the pet friendly floor -- just wondering...
Our standard king room was very large, with lots of storage space, a wet bar (with a small bar sink) small refrigerator, coffee maker & microwave. All that was missing were wall hooks. The bedding was excellent! We were there 2 nights/2 days, but I would definitely be happy to stay there longer, given the room size and accommodations.
The entire staff, across all shifts were very friendly and helpful -- EXCELLENT. The breakfast was complete and fresh and the coffee was great. They also have "grab & go" items if you can't wait for the hot items at 7AM. If you're there in the winter, they do have (limited) under building parking. To the management & staff: Great job! A++++

This hotel is conveniently located just off 26 in Government camp. We were skiing at Timberline Lodge which made the perfect stop from PDX airport to relax before a day of skiing. The breakfast bar was well supplied with both hot and cold breakfast foods. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit the Mt. Hood area. Mt. Hood Brewing Company was walking distance from the hotel and server great food.

With 14 inches of fresh snow, Best Western seemed to have nailed the aesthetic. A warm fire in the lobby, a delicious and vast breakfast, and covered parking! If you ski, work, or simply stop off in your travels, this hotel shouldn’t disappoint.

Large clean room equipped with everything that you'd expect at a Best Western Hotel' Large TV with a good number of sockets for charging electricals. Good choice available at Breakfast, with drinks available in the lobby all day. Quite expensive but one of the best Best Westerns we've stayed in , our room had a great mountain view.

Ski Bowl West is directly across Highway 26. Ski Bowl East is 3/4 mile up Government Camp Loop. Sometimes SkiBowl operates a shuttle. You may want to contact them for that information.

There is a public bus the Mountain Express that takes you to and from Timberline. It is $2 one way but it only runs every couple of hours. Getting to our hotel would be the challenge. Timberline is the only ski area open right now and is 7 miles away.

As long as you check in by 2am before we do audit you are fine. Just give the front desk a courtesy call and let us know around what time to expect you. Thanks
