Westcliff Lodge has everything, incredible views, beautiful gardens, spacious spotless rooms and comfortable beds. It’s a short drive to Hood River and it’s so nice to have the peace and quiet outside of town. We’ll definitely return.

Our first stay at Westcliff convinced us this will be our go-to place in Hood River. We requested an ADA room due to ambulatory issues and the room was HUGE. The bathroom was especially generous, unlike other hotels we've stayed (where postage stamp sized bathrooms seem like an afterthought). Beds were comfortable, noise from other rooms was non-existent. It is in an especially beautiful setting with gardens and a river view, and had an easy drive into town. The staff is friendly, generously helpful, and all gave the impression they actually like people and enjoy working there. Our only possible issue is that it is very close to the freeway, so there was (some) traffic noise, but mostly it sounded like ocean waves.

The location is very handy for accessing the WAAM and the wildflower burst. The room was very clean. The grounds are well kept and it was fun to explore the different vantage points giving spectacular views of the Gorge. We were able to charge our electric car and the office loaned us a charge cord for our phone.

Okay, this place has such great potential that I hate to write this review. First off, the day or two before our check in I got a call from the front desk asking if we could change rooms. The reason was that the room wasn't ready for occupancy. Okay. The room we selected was intentional because it had a river view and a balcony. The room we got had a river view but no balcony. Strike 1. The room we got was "updated" with kitchenette but had a full-size refrigerator in it that was way oversized for the room. And it was noisy. Strike 2. The huge refrigerator, I think, ended up us not having a dresser to store clothes, just a closet. Strike 3. The views are wonderful, the grounds are very nice, but we had no desire to spend more time there during the day than we had to. Plus it was expensive for what it is. Strike 4. I wouldn't stay there again nor recommend it to anyone else.

Our River view Kitchenettes are design for those wanting wonderful views of the Columbia River with the convenience of a studio apartment kitchenette, hence mid-size refrigerator. Your thoughts on needing extra dressers are very much appreciated and since our furniture is all custom made we will be contacting our designer/carpenter. Thank you for the pictures, the rainbow from your window is beautiful. And our closet for storage also has luggage racks for suitcases, no need to put the suitcases on top of the stove. We hope you will give us another opportunity to host you in the future.

Loved the room very spacious,clean,no residues or grout gunk/stains. some dust on interior window sills,left over soap bar in shower. no neighbor thru-wall sounds. Room provided local diners for Dine-in and/or take-out/delivery,Hotel post cards and wine glasses were a nice touch added to surrounding Vineyards. The courtyard view of the river,and the surounding grounds was amazing beautiful flowers, grass uniform cut, no animal mess noticed. Staff was friendly, reservation reminder/confirmation was a BIG Plus,knowledge of surrounding area and services also a Plus for anyone not local, provided with map. Will be the only Hotel i ever book in the area

Be sure to ask for a view room as it's a great view. The rooms open directly to outdoors and there's so much room to walk around the property with your furry companion. The location is great - just off the highway, yet we were never disturbed by the noise. It's an older property and, yes, I do wish the bathrooms were bigger, but it's very clean and better maintained than some newer properties we've stayed in.

Old friends traveling for a wedding in Hood River, and just needed a place to sleep basically. We were surprised at the spacious room and how clean it was, since it was one of the original rooms from the 1950's. Nice to be so close to the office as well, because they had coffee/tea/water at all hours, with many games available to borrow. Staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful along with meeting Eric who worked there giving us a little tour of the beautifully manicured grounds. We didn't bring our dogs, but discovered it was very dog friendly as well. The shower was pretty amazing, and the beds were so clean and comfy. Also could not believe how economical the price was; we called to make reservations rather than booking online. Highly recommended!!

Let’s start by saying it rained everyday of our extended weekend and we had a great time! The quality of the room, very large with balcony, the stunning view, and the price were wonderful! Front desk staff were very helpful from making and changing dates, to adding another night. Appreciated free coffee in morning, although we did try several area coffee shops too. It is a small thing, but this hotel gives two different types of real glassware in the room, no cheap plastic cups! Loved it! And we received a $50 gift certificate for either food or shopping, which we used easily! And we really liked the pillows. Would have liked to have used the very balcony, but rain did make it a bit soggy lol. The grounds did look quite pretty. Loved the family history of the lodge, we always try to support local businesses, versus the cookie cutter chain hotels. Would recommend The Westcliff Lodge highly!

Very nice accommodation. We stayed in a top floor, river view with king bed. The room was spacious with a full kitchen, including full size refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable. Room was spotless on arrival. Large windows looking out over the river gave the room plenty of light. Front desk staff were very friendly and made check-in very smooth. The room in this particular building has a very good river view. Parking is very convenient with a lot at each building rather that one huge lot. The grounds around the hotel are immaculate with beautiful landscaping, some outdoor seating and a generally relaxing feel in the surroundings. Will definitely stay again.

Westcliff Lodge was a perfect choice from my Expedia trip planning for my bucket list road trip with Hood River being a two night stop for seeing Mt. Hood, it’s dueling Mt. Adams across the Columbia River in Washington State via the short toll bridge, the Waterfall district on old Hwy 30, Trillium Lake view of Mt. Hood, and the Hood River downtown and beach area. Wished I stayed a couple more days. Their suggestion for Kirpa’s Indian Cuisine adjacent to their property was also perfect.

Good day! Our 3-story riverview has balconies, while the 2-story does not! None of our buildings have elevators. We do plan on building another building in the future and that one will get an elevator.
Sorry for the delayed response. It's not going to be easy to walk anywhere to a restaurant other than the one right in front of the property and perhaps the hotel next door. The closest restaurants are probably 2-3 miles away.
There are more places to choose from in the Hood River area.
